When Kevin Gray joined ACF in 2016, we managed $76 million in assets. Today that number is $300 million. When Elizabeth Miller arrived in 2019, she got to work building something lasting. Together they have given 17 years of exceptional service to ACF and to Alaska.

Today we are celebrating both of them.

Kevin will retire at the end of 2026 after 10 years as our CFO, nearly a third of ACF's entire life. Elizabeth will follow in spring 2027 after seven years as our VP of Development and Communications. Both decisions are theirs, made on their own terms, and both are well-earned.

ACF is built to be here in perpetuity, and what Kevin and Elizabeth helped create is now woven into everything this organization does. That is their legacy. We are proud of them, and grateful.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the people and organizations helping ensure every Alaskan has a place to belong.

The Fairbanks Queer Collective is creating spaces where LGBTQ+ youth and adults can build friendships, find support, share stories, and connect with their community. From youth gatherings and mutual aid to intergenerational storytelling, their work is a reminder that people build strong communities when people show up for one another.

With support from ACF’s Social Justice Fund, the Fairbanks Queer Collective continues expanding opportunities for connection, belonging, and community care across Fairbanks.

As one youth participant shared: "I now have some of the best friends I've had in my life."

When Alaskans invest in one another, belonging lasts — this Pride Month and every month.

For Alaska. Forever.

A student in a rural Alaskan community shadows a health aide in her village. Another learns to operate heavy equipment and finds out he's good at it. A third gets her first look at an airplane cockpit and decides that's where she's headed.

This is investment in Alaska’s future.

Through organizations like Alaska EXCEL, students across rural communities are getting hands-on, technical experience in careers needed most – and a reason to stay.

The Vocational Fund for Alaska's Future supports organizations like these that expand what’s possible for young people in Alaska and the regions they call home.

Summer in Alaska is here, and across the state, kids are spending their days exploring new places, making new friends, and creating memories that will last long after the season ends. And as the season kicks off, here is a look back at some memorable camp moments from last year.

These experiences are made possible by communities that invest in their young people and partners who support the Camp Initiative Fund. This year, $845,000 is helping 47 camps across Alaska provide safe, enriching opportunities for kids and peace of mind for working families.

First hikes. New friends. And the kind of confidence that doesn’t wash off when summer ends

Meet the four new voices guiding our next chapter at the Alaska Community Foundation. Leaders whose roots run deep in Alaska and whose vision reaches far.

Dr. Pearl K. Brower, President & CEO, Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation — a PhD in Indigenous Leadership and former president of Alaska's only tribal college, Pearl has devoted her career to advancing Alaska Native success, building institutional strength, and investing in communities for generations to come.

Victor Joseph, COO, Tanana Chiefs Conference — a longtime health and tribal leader guided by a simple, powerful belief: that healthy people become empowered people. For two decades, Victor has shown up for interior Alaska communities — from village health clinics all the way to the U.S. Senate.

Lisa Parker, President, Parker Horn Company — a lifelong Alaskan, Alaska Women's Hall of Fame inductee, and someone who has spent decades rolling up her sleeves for this state. From resource development to civic leadership, Lisa knows how to turn commitment into lasting impact.

Rita De La Torre, CPA & Director, Swalling & Associates, PC — with 35+ years serving Alaska businesses and Native corporations, Rita brings the kind of careful, principled stewardship that ensures every dollar entrusted to this work is honored — today and for generations to come.

Welcome, Pearl, Victor, Lisa, and Rita. We're honored to have you. 💙
