Yesterday I was a speaker at The Black Maternal Health summit 25’ hosted by @psi_ga at @morehouseschoolofmedicine — on national mental health day.

Our panel centered story telling & cultural traditions surrounding motherhood & postpartum. It was truly an honor to share my voice and mirror the ways as a community we can push the needle forward.

To our special host @mrs_lizardo , ( board president ) thank you for holding such beautiful space for @counselorcree & I. God only knows the beautiful web and flow we shared was magical. And the energy in the auditorium was soo intense— The moment I grabbed the mic I was forced to confront the very feeling I got being surrounded by such resilient , receiving & REVOLUTIONARY energy.

As I shared on stage , there is medicine in the story & beyond words I was grateful to be apart of the chosen that graced the room.

We laughed , cried , cried some more & held one another in such intimate to remember the medicine that belongs to US.

The energy of gathering with different life purposes that completely and seamlessly align together on some level for the sake of mothers , children & families — is profound. There aren’t words to articulate what WE , the women who commit to the care of other woman are carving out for our communities and lineage.

& When it comes to our training —The work doesn’t end in one weekend either. I’m excited to meet with my students tonight to bring it all full circle & begin mentorship.

So grateful for this mission
So grateful for the women who commit to themselves. So grateful for the lessons , the love , the guidance and being fully capable to guide. Anyone on either side of the stick, I am proud of you. Keep going , don’t turn around on your dream. Don’t give up , IT WAS ALREADY WRITTEN ❤️ !
