POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I made this song two and a half years ago when I was living in England. I wrote and recorded it in one night, alone with my two cats in my bedroom. It has remained almost totally unchanged since that winter’s night. I kept coming back to it, thinking I would at least re-record the vocals, but something stopped me every time. The only change I did make was that in the spring, I replaced the original digital koto track I’d made in Garageband with a recording of me playing a lovely little student harp. Now, do I know how to play the harp? No 😸 But I made it work.

This song is all me - every little aspect of it. I am so proud that I can say that I did it all by myself. I know you can tell - I know it’s not perfect - and that’s okay. It’s a piece of my heart and the sound of my soul.

You can listen to the whole song on Youtube (the link is in my bio). The music video is composed of clips I took while living in Cheltenham and Mitcheldean in 2022/2023. It heavily features a swan family that I grew very close to while living near Pittville Park, but that’s a long story for another time.

If you’ve read all this way, thank you, and I love you 💗 My prayer is for this song to reach all those souls who will resonate with it. It was medicine for me when I made it, and I hope you can feel the love and healing energy of it as well.

If it does resonate with you and you feel so inclined, it would mean a lot to me if you would share it, to your story or with whomever you think might like it. Maybe one day someone will see it who can help me turn it into a “real” song. 🤍

Love,

Forgetting isn’t failing - it’s an opportunity to remember again. Each time we remember, we strengthen the bridge.

There are tools and practices that can help us remember. Sometimes, it’s as simple as listening to a good song. Anything that reminds us of the love that we truly are.

We can’t get there with the mind alone; the pathway is through the heart. The heart knows the way even if the mind gets lost.
