Happy 21st Birthday to my beautiful Ella. ❤️ Twenty one years ago, you made me a mom, and what a gift that has been. It’s impossible to put into words how proud I am of the woman you’ve become. You have always had this quiet strength about you. You’re compassionate, thoughtful, incredibly hardworking, and brave enough to chase a dream that asks so much of you. Watching you pour your heart into dance, excel in school, move away from home, embrace new cities, and continue creating a life that’s authentically yours has been one of the greatest joys of my life. One of the greatest gifts of watching you grow into adulthood is that you’ve continued to invite me into your life. I love that you still call for advice, share your wins and your worries, and trust me with pieces of your world…and your heart. I never ever take that for granted. The fact that you value my perspective while becoming so confident in your own is something I’ll always treasure. Watching our relationship evolve has been one of the sweetest gifts of motherhood. You have this incredible way of making people feel seen, loved, and accepted. Your kindness isn’t loud. It’s genuine. Your determination isn’t for recognition. It’s simply who you are. While I’m proud of everything you’ve accomplished, I’m even more proud of the person you are. And now… somehow… you’re 21. I still remember tiny dance shoes, messy buns, recital weekends, long trips to dance events and awards, BTW events, our Sweetabeeta/Sugarbooger/ Mom (You,Zoe,me) bond and forever continuous energy, and all the little moments in between. How you literally were the strength at times when our little family needed it the most. Now you’re celebrating your birthday in Chicago, living this amazing adventure you’ve worked so hard to create. It feels like yesterday and a lifetime ago all at once. (Cont. in comments…) by @akm19081

You continue to amaze me with your passion, resilience, and that fierce determination to chase your dreams—whether on the court, with a sketch pad and pencil, or in the classroom. Feeling incredibly delighted with ZoZo as she finishes 7th grade! 🌟 She has made Honor Roll, earned a Christian Service Hours award, served as 7th grade Student Council rep, and excelled in track, volleyball, and tennis. She has grown so much in wisdom, kindness, and confidence (not to mention height as well) this year. Here’s to celebrating her achievements and looking forward to 8th grade. Love you to the moon and back! 💖 #HappyMom#LastDayOfSchool by @akm19081
