Monday Mindset What's one thing you can focus on to make this a good week? Maybe it's reading for 10 minutes before work. Maybe it's writing down 3 things you're thankful for every day. Maybe it's laying out your gym clothes or packing a healthy lunch the night before. Look back on the goals you set for yourself just four weeks ago. Say what you want about Mondays, they are a great time to reset and start again. by @akmarlton
Whatever your next goal is, it's always good to include a buddy. Telling someone about your goals cements your commitment to yourself, gives them an opportunity to ask about your progress and hold you accountable, and gives you an outside perspective when things get tough. Maybe you're even lucky enough to have someone join you in your goal; it's always easier (and more fun!) to grow together. by @akmarlton
"The Time Is Always Right To Do What Is Right." - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In martial arts, we teach our students not only physical skills but also the importance of character, discipline, and service to others. Today, let's reflect on how we can inspire our children to live with purpose, kindness, and a commitment to doing what is right ❀—both on and off the mat. by @akmarlton
Keep your eye on the target. When you're not sure of the steps to take to achieve your goal, it can help to focus on the kind of person you want to be. For example, if your goal is to lose weight, at any decision point along that journey you can ask yourself, "What would a healthy person choose?" If your goal is to get better grades, you can ask, "What would an A-student do?" This is why we always emphasize having a black belt attitude. Even if it's your first day in class and you have no idea what's in store for you on your black belt journey, you can always answer the question, "What would a black belt do?" by @akmarlton
How are we able to teach kids serious skills like focus, self-discipline and confidence without them getting bored or running out the door? Our classes are serious...ly FUN! đŸ€Ș by @akmarlton
