Got milk?

6 months of breastfeeding. 🥹🤍

And whew… I EARNED these 6 months. 😂

Early in my breastfeeding journey, I was diagnosed with D-MER and postpartum anxiety. D-MER causes a sudden wave of negative emotions around your milk letdown…something I had NEVER even heard of until I experienced it myself.

There were days I wanted to quit and throw in the towel completely. Between D-MER, pumping around the clock, sleepless nights, sore nipples, supply changes, tongue-tie and latch issues, a tongue-tie release, AND surviving mastitis… I remember thinking, how am I supposed to do this for MONTHS?

But I kept going.

And somewhere along the way… it got better.

My D-MER episodes became less frequent. We worked through the latch issues. I learned my body, my baby and what worked for US.

And the biggest thing? It became NORMAL.

In the beginning, pumping and breastfeeding felt like this HUGE task I had to constantly think about. Eventually, it just became part of my everyday routine. You do it so much that it becomes second nature…pump, latch, feed, store milk, wash parts, repeat. 😂 It’s just part of my normal day now.

And now here I am… 6 MONTHS IN. 🥹🤍

So to the mama in the beginning wondering how she’s supposed to make it 6 months or even a year:

Don’t think about the months.

Get through today. Then tomorrow. Then another week.

Ask for help when you need it and take care of yourself along the way. But if you WANT to keep going and you’re wondering if it’ll always feel this hard…

No. It really can get easier. 🤍

One pump. One latch. One bottle. One day at a time.

Happy 6 months of breastfeeding to me. 🥹

First and foremost, all praise and thanks to You, God. Thank You, Jesus, for making this possible for blessing me with an equally yoked partner I get to experience and enjoy for the rest of my life.

I’m marrying my best friend, and it still feels surreal. It feels like I’m living in a fairytale, and I am so grateful for you. The little girl inside of me is ecstatic thank You, God, for healing her day by day. And thank you, my love, for loving me so gently and helping me grow into the woman I’ve become.

You will be an amazing husband and father. I’m so excited for this new chapter of our lives.
