POSTS STORIES REELS

I really needed the last two months off of Instagram: I've become wildly more engaged with my family, friends, and found true joy in the art of the in-person hang. For a long time I struggled with addiction to the scroll. Just in the last year I've had multiple days with over 10 hours of screen time on this app alone - gross! I'm gonna miss the memes and the silly videos and the pure dopamine, but I'm declaring this the year of serotonin and oxytocin (dopamine is such a 2024 neurotransmitter). Here's to more dogs, more humans, and less screens. Cheers -RJH by @akrjizzle

Great to see the seastar on her journey north! Sending good vibes to her and Charlie as they battle mounties and other Canadian horrors on the way to a new life in Alaska. All we do is take pictures by the ocean! #models by @akrjizzle

Been thinking a lot about my homies from the 'Ham, and family and friends all over the world. Hope y'all are ready for me to road trip around the country to give y'all a big hug when it's socially acceptable.
Til then: make sure Everybody Eats, keep your loved ones close, and support art!

$Here's the big fat life update post I know my internet fanbase is desperately craving. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👍The Good: over the last month or so I moved to South Lake Tahoe California, mostly by accident -- natural beauty, plenty of shralping/ sending opportunities, and an awesome community turned a long weekend trip to visit @liampollo into a new home, complete with a room in a sweet house and fresh whip (now with all windows in an acceptable condition!) Not to mention a dope job, complete with coworkers that have so warmly welcomed me to the area! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👎The Less Good: I spent most of the spring and summer before I moved down here struggling through difficulties with anxiety and depression. A few weeks in a row where I didn't leave the house, being in bed for 12+hours at a time, anxiety attacks, really embracing the big suck. I was lucky enough to avoid basically all adversity in my childhood, and building in coping strategies throughout young adulthood has been *hard*. Luckily, I have some amazing family members who have always been there to support me with food, shelter, and long term goals for self betterment (e.g. running my first half marathon last Sunday), as well as hella amazing friends who stay present in my life, even when we're hundreds or thousands of miles away and it's difficult to use our phones for whatever reason. Therapy, meds, and physical activity have all played a huge role in my return to Normal RJ™ that can sustain big solo sendventures on a shoestring budget. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ {{I'm sharing this^ because 🅰️discussions on mental health (esp. men's-tal health) are important to have and I'm here to participate in them and 🅱️ at least one friend has reached out and told me that my openness in seeking help for my issues helped them find the confidence to seek help for the things that have weighed them down, and that's super rad! If by chance you still aren't convinced therapy is dope, watch the show Billions and see how psychotherapy can be used to not only help make the big mental illness stuff feel managable, but also boost your brain's performance so you can trade stonks better or whatever your career path may be}} ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ *Cont'd in comments* by @akrjizzle$

Been quite the amazing fortnight in Eíre! Big shout out to the best hosts in all the land @aimieeeeeeeee and @donutsandwimwams for hooking up the crash pad in Dublin, Conor for esquiring me around Rush and Newgrange/inviting me into his family's home, and the multitude of excessively nice Irish folks who helped me get around the Southwest (gold stars in the last picture are spots where I was picked up hitchhiking: I never waited more than a half hour for a ride).
Til next time, sláinte! On to the next adventure... by @akrjizzle

Thankful to get a few killer Bellingham sunsets in before I head out for the next adventure, and a Christmas with the most supportive family in the world (although maybe we need to invest in a selfie stick that isn't my arm) by @akrjizzle
