Dear Xiyon aka X Man,

You made me mature into the man that I am today. God put you on this earth for me, and the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew I had a purpose.

Life can be challenging and frustrating, but it can also be beautiful and full of joy. I want you to always remember that “delayed doesn’t mean denied.” Just because something doesn’t happen when you want it to doesn’t mean it won’t happen. God’s timing is always perfect.
Patience is one of the greatest strengths you can have. Take pride in the journey because your younger siblings are watching you every day. You are their superhero. Lead by example, make them proud, and most importantly, make yourself proud.

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” — Romans 12:12

No matter where life takes you, keep trusting God, keep working hard, and never lose faith in His plan for your life.

Dear Xander AKA Xanman,

It’s amazing watching you grow, mature, and continue becoming not only a great athlete, but an even better human being. I sit back and smile every time I see you get underestimated by your peers and maybe even coaches.

The beautiful thing is, when you step on that field and perform, you put people on notice. That’s when the support starts coming your way. But remember, son — that’s the lesson.

PROVE YOURSELF.

Even when you’re unsure of yourself sometimes…

PROVE YOURSELF.

Even when you don’t have the support you feel you deserve… PROVE YOURSELF.

Never let this game change who you are. Continue being the person who spreads love, brings joy, and makes an impact everywhere you go. Your heart is one of your greatest strengths.

Remember what God tells us in Joshua 1:9:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

I love you, son. Continue to make us proud, but most importantly, continue to make yourself proud.

Dear Xiyir aka Speedy,

Your older brothers gave you the blueprint and showed you how to play this game I love. You are soaking up the knowledge from them and applying it immediately. At your young age, many will doubt you, discourage you, and possibly say you aren’t good enough!

KEEP PERFORMING!

Many may cause you to second guess if you are talented or not!

KEEP PERFORMING!

One thing that’s undeniable is results. The proof is always in the pudding. Always be thankful for the opportunities that you get and make the most of them.
I will always be here to guide you throughout your trials and tribulations, but if by chance I am not, please remember what I taught you and exposed you to. That will be your compass throughout life!

Remember:

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9

Keep fighting! Stay hungry! Keep performing when your name is called. Continue to trust the process, believe in yourself, and let your work speak for you.

Dear Xachary, aka Big Green,

I want to start off by saying how proud I am of you. You have continuously shown the world who you are. You are a self-motivated individual, and any coach would be blessed to have the opportunity to coach you once they truly get to know you.

The dedication and commitment you put into your craft is phenomenal. The way you support your teammates, the friendships you build, and the leadership you display are second to none. Thank you for bringing so much joy into my life. Watching you play the game that I love and having the privilege of being a part of your journey is something I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world.
