Humbled, Patient, Unmoved — Crown still intact.

“You can take us out of Africa, but you can’t take Africa out of us.” 🇱🇷🇺🇸

In honor of Liberia’s 179th Independence, I had the privilege of addressing our community here in Philadelphia as Youth Chair of Youth of LAP. From honoring our founders’ vision of scholars, entrepreneurs, and builders — to standing rooted in our identity here in Africatown — my message was clear: no backlash, no critique, and no vandalism can erase who we are or what we’ve built.

To my fellow young Liberians: continue your education. Get your degrees, your licenses, your LLCs. Stack your mokofee. Let’s be the Liberators and Freedom Fighters our forefathers and mothers envisioned.

Grateful to everyone who came out to celebrate with me and Youth of LAP.

Onward, together.

Once a Liberian, Always a Liberian! by @al.samukai

Each generation must, out of relative obscurity, discover its mission, fulfill it, or betray it - Frantz Fanon

Mission accepted, mission in progress - Samukai 🪖

My role model & head of my Family former Defense Minister BJ Samukai 🪖.

My two favorite scholars, Dr. Burrowes & Dr. Fahnbulleh: when learning authentic Liberian history, I turn to their work to decolonize my mind.

This summer I had the opportunity to volunteer with the Liberian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to work on a initiative for the Diaspora Youth offering my expertise in operations & community organizing.

This work is about connecting Liberian youth in the diaspora to each other, to home, and to the opportunities to build together. Our generation carries the culture, the skills, and the vision to strengthen Liberia from wherever we stand.

More to come. Stay tuned, and if you’re a young Liberian at home or abroad, this is for you 🇱🇷 #LDYC by @al.samukai

Philly showing out as always. 🇱🇷

Huge S/O to @heritagexhustle for bringing this to our city — events like this are exactly what our community needs.

And @july26phl — thank you for the interview and for consistently curating spaces that celebrate who we are. Every year you raise the bar. We’re locked in for July 26 weekend. 🫡 by @al.samukai

Nobody told me how hard it would be to show up for everyone at once.

In 2025, I was stepping into fatherhood for the first time — overwhelmed, stretched, but still called to serve my community. There were moments I didn’t know how I’d make it through.

But God had a plan bigger than my doubt.
By the beginning & end of the year, I was standing in front of the President & VP of Liberia delivering a speech I never imagined giving.

If you’re a father, a leader, or just someone trying to hold it all together — this one’s for you. Drop a 🙏 if God has ever taken you further than you planned. by @al.samukai

Yesterday, I was honored to represent the Liberian Association of Pennsylvania (LAP) and speak on behalf of the youth and the less fortunate—both in Liberia and across the diaspora—during H.E. President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s Town Hall Meeting in Washington, D.C.

I highlighted the resilience of Liberians while calling for meaningful change and sustainable progress.
