Still wrapping my head around this one.

Most days started at 4 PM on-site and ended around 5 AM. A few hours later, I’d be back on my mac covering live NBA games as a sports art director before doing it all over again the next day.

There were plenty of moments when things didn’t go according to plan, but looking back, I’m mostly grateful. But if this project taught me anything, it’s that grit isn’t about never feeling tired. It’s about showing up anyway. Holding yourself to your own standards, even when nobody would blame you for cutting corners.

Thank you to @kayocosio , @jinoboy5 , and @zacvanderven and the rest of @jumpman23 @parkaccess_ph @honeycomb.arts for the trust!

It takes a special kind of crazy to hand over two massive walls to someone who’s never tackled anything this big before. I’m honored you believed I could pull it off. 🙏🏾🤝

Some moments feel surreal even while they’re happening.

Meeting @jasonkidd, a Hall of Famer whose game I grew up watching, and admiring, was already a once-in-a-lifetime experience. But getting the opportunity to talk with him, explain the illustration I created, have him sign it, shake his hand, and share a few photographs together made it feel almost unreal.

I never imagined where being a sports illustrator would take me. What started as drawing the players and moments that inspired me eventually led me into sports art direction, creating and building visual stories around the game I’ve loved for so long

And somehow, those two paths came together and opened the door to this moment.

There’s something deeply personal about creating art around the athletes who shaped the way you see the game. But having that work end up in front of the person who inspired it. Getting to talk to him about it, is something I’ll never take for granted.

For a few minutes, I wasn’t an AL$O or an art director for @nbaonprimevideoph .

I was just the kid who grew up watching Jason Kidd play, standing in front of a Hall of Famer, trying to take it all in.

A piece of my work. A handshake. Moments together. A memory I’ll carry for a very long time.

Truly one for the books! Thank you to the All-Star Team who made this one possible! 🏆🏀

Exactly a week ago, I got the chance to see Tony Parker in person, teaching young athletes the fundamentals of basketball and the core values that come with the game. Teamwork, respect, sportsmanship, and determination.

My prints arrived a day late, but I still brought them with me the next day, hoping I’d get the chance to hand it to him and have it signed.

Didn’t happen. 🤣

But sometimes, the story behind a piece becomes part of the piece itself.

The print still made it to NBA HOUSE, and along the way, I got to share it with a few people I met there. In a way, that’s pretty cool too.

The Spurs in general were a huge part of why I fell in love with basketball in the first place. Growing up watching the Spurs, even if at times they always dominated the team I was rooting for, I was always fascinated by how they played. How every player, movement, pass, and detail had a purpose within a bigger system.

For this piece, I wanted to draw Tony during his Nike Hyperdunk days, a pair I insistingly kept looking for whenever we would pass by clearance outlets during my elementary days, in hopes of finding a pair on discount 🤣

I think that idea instinctively stayed with me.

It’s something I eventually started carrying into my own work. Building illustrations not just around an athlete, but around a whole system of shapes, patterns, symbols, colors, and little details that come together to tell a story.

So this piece is more than just a tribute to Tony Parker. It’s also a little piece of where my love for basketball and my creative journey began.

A little tribute to one of the greatest point guards to ever do it. 🇫🇷🏀

One month later! Still feels surreal.

A reminder that some dreams take years of quiet work before they suddenly become walls you get to paint.

This isn’t a part of the process I usually show, so I thought I’d share some behind the scenes of the design process. ⛰️ how the wall behind me looked like with that jarring green color into something that would be memorable not only for me and the players who participated in DAYO23, but for the people who live in Flora St.

A few inspos, supposed-to-be references, drafts, photos from ocular, and proof that Tondo has always been Jordan.

“BIYAHENG KINABUKASAN”

With everything going on recently, glad I was able to squeeze in a day my take for #VinfastBraveNewImaginationCreatorsChallenge ⚡️

The concept blends the the visual style, storytelling, and cultural pride of jeepneys with the sleek, futuristic essence of EVs.

It features the elements that make a “jeepney”, a front and rear end with a modern yet “ornate” feel, side-panel artworks featuring the Philippines’s resilience and independence with the Carabao and Haribon, a minimalistic take on traditional Filipino textile that symbolizes how the past and future are interwoven, and a witty slogan on the back. It’s a nod to the past, but a drive towards the future. Hence the name, “Biyaheng Kinabukasan”.

WE HAVE A WALL 🏆 FROM DIGITAL TO MURAL

Never crossed my mind that this early in 2025 I’d have the opportunity to paint a wall, let alone have a piece beside renowned muralists such as @jappyagoncillo @humblemakesart @racobell @acbautista__ ! 😮‍💨✨

BASKETBALL IS FOR EVERYONE

This mural’s a reminder to the beginnings of a true filipino baller - playing barefoot, having drinks and merienda after a quick game, getting dried leaves out of an outdoor court, being kids around kids.

Never would’ve finished this wall cramming everything into a 5-day timeline using paints and brushes 💀 Thank you Kief, Jam, Aya, Dan, AC for the huge help ✨
