First look at The Bridge 🇵🇸 Every year, Alaa’s mother sends a gift of separation from her home in Jenin to her sister in Amman. A container of olive oil made from his grandfather’s olive trees. And this year, as every year, Alaa is delivering it himself. A human tale of family and connection, hope and joy, set against the brutal truths of the impacts of colonialism and the broken promises of the British in Palestine. A little look back at our time at the Edinburgh Fringe last month 🫶 Across August, we were happy to be alongside The Bridge, The Horse of Jenin, Hanna Shammas Takes It to Heart, Step and a Half, and Sami Abu Wardeh Hates You — supporting the shows through merch, sales, and simply being present with the work and the people behind it. One small thing we especially loved making during the run was a set of 3D-printed keychains for The Bridge, made by @thefikralab ✨ For us, this is also part of MAQAM — showing up, supporting artists in practical ways, sharing the work with audiences, and being part of the wider cultural life around the shows. Thank you to everyone we worked with and met in Edinburgh ❤️ by @alaashehada_
Another show that I adored at #EdFringe was @alaashehada_ 's heartbreaking and heartwarming tale of Jenin. I hope this painting does some justice to this funny and beautiful show ❤️🖤🤍💚. #thehorseofjenin #alaashehada #theatre @ivo_graham @laylacomedy @tattoodave1608 @fringeartistsforpalestine @_allourrelations by @alaashehada_
