It is with profound pride and heartfelt honor that I find myself featured in a national competition under the inspiring theme “Algeria, Land of Freedom and Peace.” This cherished homeland, whose history has been illuminated by the sacrifices of its brave sons and daughters, stands as an enduring symbol of freedom, dignity, and unwavering resilience.
To represent Algeria in such a prestigious event is far more than a personal achievement; it is a noble responsibility and a privilege that reflects my deep attachment to my country and my sincere devotion to its glorious legacy. Algeria’s story is one of courage, determination, and an unyielding pursuit of liberty—values that continue to inspire generations.
Algeria is not merely a place we call home; it is a living identity engraved in our hearts, a land where the spirit of peace, coexistence, and solidarity flourishes. Through the language of art and photography, we endeavor to celebrate its breathtaking beauty, preserve its rich cultural heritage, and convey the noble human values that have made Algeria a beacon of freedom and hope among nations.
May our creative works continue to honor this great nation and reflect the timeless message embodied in its name: a land of freedom, peace, and boundless pride.

Some photos from the first edition of the Field Photography Competition, organized by the Youth Activities Association "Al-Raed" of Setif Province, where I had the honor of participating as a member of the judging panel. This was not my first experience in judging, yet it was a valuable opportunity to interact with professionals and mentors whose experience in the field surpasses mine. I was fortunate to benefit from some of their knowledge through our brief conversations. May God bless them all.
I was also delighted to meet my teacher and elder brother, the renowned film director Ahmed Zir, who has proudly represented Algeria on numerous international stages, festivals, and cultural events.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Youth Activities Association "Al-Raed", to each and every member according to their role and position, as well as to the Ministry of Youth and the Directorate of Youth of Setif Province for placing their trust in me.
I would also like to thank my fellow artists and friends for their energy, creativity, and dedication despite the challenging schedule of the competition. One particularly positive aspect that impressed me greatly—even though I was not with them at the time—was that they gathered at the end of the day to discuss their photographs with complete transparency and honesty. This reflects their awareness, their desire to improve, their commitment to advancing this noble and refined art, and their willingness to learn from one another and correct their mistakes.
(To be honest, I was a little jealous that I wasn't there with them to learn something too! 😂)
My deepest respect and appreciation go to all of you, dear artists. Hats off to you 🎩. This is a wonderful practice that I hope to see in future competitions and photography salons everywhere. ::: by @aladdin_without_lamp
