$I’ve been going back to listen to the greats of jazz during this time of craziness. These trumpet players inspired me with their distinct style, voice, and innovation: Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, Chet Baker, Freddie Hubbard, Clifford Brown, Woody Shaw, Lee Morgan, Wynton Marsalis, Scott Wendholt, the list goes on. I try to absorb as much of their sound as I can. There are so many cool nuances each player has that fascinate me. I like to pull my phone out and record almost everything I play. You can learn so much about your own voice as a jazz trumpet player just by going back and listening to the choices you made. Here’s a quick little improv solo just letting the ideas flow and the music take over. @trumpetlovers_ @trumpetband @trumpet_tv @jazztrumpetvids @positivetrumpetersworldwide / \ / \ / \ / \ / #improvisation #trumpet #trumpetlove #trumpetist #trumpetplayer #trumpetsolo #trumpette #trumpetlife #trumpets #transcription #jazztranscription #jazztrumpet #musiclover #saxaphone #jazzsaxophone #bdworld #ugamusic #horns #coffeemusic taken in Kennesaw, Georgia by @alan_hester$

$@thisismoonchild music never disappoints, and the horn solis are TIGHT. The way they compose their music, aspect of sound, and lyricism is such a cool vibe. $I discovered Benny just recently here on Instagram, and I love his versatility. Me being a vocalist and a trumpet player as well, he’s a great inspiration to me.
