It took me awhile to find the right words to say, the right words to somehow summarize the past 17 years with this beautiful woman I am lucky to call mom.

My mom strongly battled breast cancer from 2015 when she was first diagnosed, until May 9th, 2025, when she passed.

Kristen, as most knew her by, is the most incredible person I have ever met. She is determined, loyal, compassionate, and unbelievably strong. She would do anything for her family, whether that was fly around the country for gymnastics meets or show up to the countless soccer games, no matter the weather. She planned the best spontaneous birthday trips, jam packed advent calendars yearly, and the best vacations where the memories are endless. All while undergoing chemo and cancer treatments.

There are no amount of words to describe how she impacted each and every person she encountered. With her big smile and kindness, she welcomed each person as her own. I am beyond grateful for the lessons she’s taught me and the love she gave me as her only daughter. I will forever cherish the bond we have and am incredibly blessed to call her mom.💗 by @alanagvelez
