It’s official—we’re married! Over a decade in the making, @mosesaipa and I celebrated our union with our family and chosen family at our home, on tables adorned with flowers grown in our backyard. A true collaborator, @kiawe_outdoor allowed us to integrate our vision into their incredible production of open fire cooking and storytelling. They prepared some of the most amazing bites I’ve ever tasted, showcasing produce grown by us and our friends @lapaau_farm, fish caught by @nickdub808 and Uncle Craig, and sourcing the rest as close to home as possible. The wines were masterfully curated and procured by my dad, and my mom @joankysar helped us every day leading up to the party with everything from folding our 1001 gold paper cranes (@kaanohihula folded, too!) to watering the plants. From the perfect break in the rain, to the beautiful music by @jon.ako.3, we couldn’t have asked for a better day. I highly recommend marrying your best friend and celebrating with your closest. @angelanelsonphoto seamlessly integrated into the evening, capturing such magical moments (all photos by Angie) whilst really becoming part of the family. We ended the night with a spoil of sweets and a trio of beautiful cakes made by my former Brownie troop leader @rusticrosesmauicakes! We’ll be playing this night on repeat for a while. by @alanakysar

Over an hour and a half from our home in Kula, a weekend staycation at @ritzcarltonkapalua felt like a proper vacation. From dinner a stone’s throw from Fleming Beach at @burgershackkapalua, to starting the day with a gorgeous, easy coastal hike steps from the room, to ending it with a concert on the property celebrating the Fourth, featuring local artists including my classmate @aloha.akoni, we soaked up every moment. The vibe was early-morning showers, breezy trades, and mellow, relaxing, sunshiny days. Kapalua is such a beautiful part of the island, and I’m so grateful for the memories we made out there! by @alanakysar
