Last weekend was... interesting!

Battling a cold all week leading up to it, I wasn't sure how things were going to go, and things didnt end up as they might, at first, seem!

Starting the weekend by dropping a BOAT load of points, wasn't how i anticipated the day starting, but thats how it went so I tried to pick myself up out of the gutter and settled in to just enjoying what I could. With some better stages following but only one clean for the day, I knew I'd have to put in a MUCH better effort on the Sunday. When packing up for the day, I bumped into @bnorton85, the only other Factory shooter to turn up. He told me he had been having all manner of issues and had to retire his rifle! I was gutted and despite not knowing the scores, I wanted to at least have a bit of a battle even if their were only two of us shooting for the win. No one wants to win like that, so on the drive home, I made the decision to try and deserve the win a bit by hitting more targets on average than the Saturday!

Going into Sunday, I felt a little better and found my brain seemed to be working on an additional cylinder. I hadn't really checked the scores but I knew i had work to do if I was going to even vaguely 'deserve' the win! And looking back, i feel like I did a reasonable job. A top 10 overall (9th) and the Factory class win 🏆 I was reasonably happy with that. Again, not the way I wanted to win, but my goal of raking home 2 Factory trophies had been attained, even if by default this time. I also managed a PB on the skills stage, getting a 48.31 seconds, almost 10 seconds of my match best to date.

As always, the stages were excellent and the ROs were amazing... we really owe these guys a lot of gratitude for spending their days keeping us all in check!

Next match is the season finalé and hopefuly, I can get my game face on and end the season on a high.

As always, a special thanks to @mikehatwigg22prs for the motivation! by @alanapone

Massive thankyou to @mrstheryancharlton for these awesome photos from thise weekends PR22 match down at @wmsghodnet

It was a weekend of two half's with Saturday starting well with one point dropped on the first stage and an okay performance on the skills stage that was only good enough for second fastest clean for the day. After that, things went down hill rapidly, I wouldnt even say I 'bled' points, I was in need of a torniquete and haemostatic dressings!

Due to the amount of stages that get completed on the Saturdays, its impossible to really undo the damage entirely. Ending Saturday in 19th, I was eager to try and salvage some places.

Sunday saw us complete the remaining 6 stages and what a difference! I cleaned 4 of the stages, dropped 2 points on the first stage of the day and then had a nightmare stage later on where I dropped a LOT of points due to literally not seeing the smallest target on a KYL rack meaning I shot most of the stage out of sequence. Hard pill to swallow but it is what it is!

Overall I managed to pull back a few places and ended the qeekend 15th overall and got an absolute trouncing by @bnorton85 for the production class crown. Well done Ben, that Anschuts is really starting to shine along with your skills.

Hatwigg will be getting bored with this post now so I best congratulate him on his amazing performance giving him a 4th overall and winning the grumpy old goat class. Well done ol' boy.

As always, the staff and ROs were amazing and i can't wait to get back out for the next one soon.

Hope you all enjoy the pictures, thanks again @mrstheryancharlton

Another amazing weekends rimfire action with the amazing squad 4!

Another tricky, varied and overall enjoyable course of fire was put on by the team, and expertly managed by @tomrice_prs

It was awe inspiring to bear witness to @chironbjackson_precisionrifle put on a masterclass and take his class win. Equally as impressive was watching @bnorton85 really step up a gear and drive his Anschuts APR superbly and smash me into third place in Production class, hot on the heals of the winner of the Class.

It was also great to be squaded with Team AI shooters @owen.danj and @precisionriflerob, Dan shot amazing on both days and Rob seemed to enjoy his weekend, asking lots of questions and really getting to grips with the range layout, tricky targetry and tight time constraints.

As always, the Digglers were on song, providing great laughs and lighthearted fun from both @mikehattwig22prs and @mcguiganprecision

Couldnt have asked for a better squad.

Me? I didnt do too well, leaking points here and there, but I didnt let it bother me too much, I have learned a lot this weekend and can definitely make improvements. by @alanapone

JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG!!

DJ is back on the road and was out enjoying the sunshine yesterday. I forget how nice it is to drive the old girl. Relaxed, smooth and with the lovely V12 bubble from the 5.3 litre engine. Sure, most of the 250ish horses have died of starvation, but she still has plenty of poke to get going if you need to. by @alanapone

I'm still really chuffed about this Sub-60 second clean on the skills stage. Next time out, we shall see if I can get sub 55 seconds.

Can't wait to get back out there with the @masterpiecearms rimfire elite and notch up some more points for the season. by @alanapone

And just like that... 200 pieces of brass deprimed and full length sized.

This @alpha_munitions brass is amazing! With my Lapua brass, I would typically see 2-2.5thou variation in sized brass. The Alpha has given me 1thou!! Unreal!! I'm becoming a convert FAST!!
