The Choss Whisperer, 5.12b/c ✅.

Obviously not the hardest route in the area, but a line that has inspired me ever since I set eyes on it. Life happens, work happens, fatherhood happens, and as such, my climbing has taken a backseat in my life. But despite all that, I’ve always wanted to continue climbing as hard as I possibly could, and to get outside on real rock as often as possible. Thankful to have a wonderful and understanding life partner who supported me while I would spend my weekends trying to get strong on rock again.

Just really thankful for all my climbing partners, and especially to my friend Jason who has been working this project with me for the entirety of this summer climbing season. He was one of two people who reached out to my Facebook post in which I was desperately seeking a partner who just wanted to try hard and project a route.

Holy crap I got to climb with the fucking local legend @jimthornburg. It was just so incredible seeing him fly up these projects and doing so so calmly. Thanks for the photo, Jim! And thanks for all the hard work developing the crags out in the Bay! 🤙🤙 taken in Mickey's Beach by @alantdng

Damn. You know when you finally take a week off from climbing to let your fingers, skin, and forearms heal? And you feel so strong on the wall??? Yep. I needed to get right back into training after taking a week off just to step away from all things plastic. Showed up to Mickeys and my partner had to bail last minute. Fog everywhere, not the greatest condition… but I was already there so I hoped I could bum a belay. Luckily I met some really great folks who let me join their crew and trade a bunch of catches together. Really thankful to still be able to climb despite being a new father (kudos goes to my wife for being the best). And really thankful to share these moments with really great people. This is why I love climbing.

Cold War V7 at 40 degrees ✅
