Never stop learning! Hairstroke Masterclass with @alarabrowdesign 🫶🏽

It was such a pleasure to welcome my lovely friend Lara to The SJ Training Academy to host her incredible Hairstroke Masterclass!

As much as I love teaching, I absolutely love being a student again. There is always something new to learn, and I took so much away from this class, particularly Lara’s incredible pre mapping technique! It’s so simple yet SO effective!

I’ll admit, the drawing was definitely the part I found most challenging! 😂 But that’s exactly why I love continuing my education. It pushes me outside my comfort zone, challenges the way I work and reminds me that there is always room to grow.

Feeling very lucky to have such talented friends in this industry who inspire me to keep learning and improving my craft. AND it was so fun to take the training with my SJLips student @beckyjigginspermanentmakeup ☺️

Thank you so much Lara for sharing your knowledge and bringing your talent to my academy… I look forward to your next class with us 🖤

What an amazing two days training with the incredible Lara at the SJ Clinic 🤍

Her online mentorship combined with hands-on training has been fantastic. So much to take away, and a technique that feels like a real breakthrough for the PMU industry. I’m coming home feeling inspired and excited to put it all into practice!

Steff, you were such a joy to share the training with. And Maiyah and Suranne were so lovely, capturing all the content along the way. The real dream team 🤍

Colour theory in PMU is SO much more important than people realise 🎨

This was me getting stuck into the colour theory side of the Science Behind Cosmetic Tattooing course, mixing my way through different shades and seeing how colours and undertones behave.

Choosing a pigment isn’t as simple as picking the colour you like in the bottle!

Your natural lip tone, undertones, existing pigmentation and the result you’re wanting all need to be considered.

Getting the colour right is a huge part of getting the result right 🤍

HEALED Brows & Fresh Lips by @browcandy_uk on her lip blush masterclass. @browcandy_uk said to me while doing this clients lips - I love how you can see the different shades of colour in the healed brows a some strokes are lighter some are darker. This is using controlled saturation to create a more 3D effect when healed. This is why these brows look so realistic even though the client has zero hair present.

How amazing are these lips too!!! We used @sculptedstudios @permablend_pigments - Joy to create these. Again controlling saturation to get a beautiful colour that matches the clients natural undertone.

Pre draw vs Tattoo - Realistic Hairstrokes are my favourite for brows like this. Understanding when to choose this style is super important. This is an extremely natural option and for some people it’s too natural. But for those wanting undetectable results this technique is perfect.

I always say this option gives you subtle but significant results.

Appointments are limited, please book in advance. Taking bookings for January now.

Just me, my machines and a ridiculous amount of concentration 😂

Testing different hand speeds and seeing exactly how each machine responds because, unfortunately, “winging it” isn’t really the luxury experience I’m going for.

A little practice, a lot of tweaking and plenty of getting to know my machines properly.

The boring bit that makes the pretty bit even prettier 💋
