**WREN TANK TEST KNIT**
I recently got to test knit the lovely lacy #wrentank for @brianaarlene 💛 although most knitters chose #magpiefibersequinoxsport I had been wanting to try #farmersdaughterfibers #reminiscesport & it was a perfect gauge for gauge trade-out. This was a fun and engaging lace pattern that was easily memorized so the knitting went pretty quick. I wrapped up the project in a month so am able to enjoy wearing it this summer and look forward to layering it this fall and winter. The pattern can be enjoyed by all level of talented knitters as it’s written so well. The resulting fabric is rustic but drapey and not it itchy at all, I’ll definitely be using it again! by @alaskacandie

**SOLSTICE FLOCK VEST**
I love this pattern, so fun & fast and really well written with loads of great tutorials! Last year I purchased a set of minis with a skein of Legend Bear Paw DK in the colorway Solstice from Farmer’s Daughter Fibers in #greatfallsmontana. When I saw the #flockvestkal2026 pattern I knew instantly which yarn & buttons I was using. #bearpawdk yarn is an absolute dream to knit with, so soft & luxurious yet still stable. No pilling whatsoever while knitting and the colors are so very beautiful. Truly one of my favorite yarns! I had intended to get this vest knit in ten days to meet the #fiberfriendskal deadline but fell short when I went off to the cabin without my last ball of Legend, and I could have easily met my goal! Oh well, it gave me a chance to knit an #alpinebloomhat as a backup project because it’s been so cold in alaska this summer ❄️ taken in Cooper Landing, Alaska by @alaskacandie

**WINTER IN JULY ALPINE BLOOM HAT**
Took the #alpinebloomhat along to my #cooperlandingalaska cabin as a backup knitting project, good thing because I left my yarn at home to finish my #flockvestkal2026 in time. I knit this by using leftover #spincycledyedinthewool balls I’ve kept over the years to match a petunia in my #hightunnel . It must be #memorialdayweekend2026 because the @dreareneeknits #quillkalchallenge is officially underway 🧶 this year we will attempt to finish the #drkquillhat by noon Monday. I went stash diving and found a ball of #elderworsted by @ritualdyes, one of my favorite worsted weight yarns. The #shanikocowl was knit in conjunction with the #shanikosweater test knit. This fun cowl pattern by @brianaarlene is a great way to knit your swatch and test out your color 🎨 ahead of an entire sweater. The Shaniko designs are all beginner friendly with no long floats. Had the pleasure of knitting @brianaarlene ‘s Shaniko Sweater across 4,000 miles in my rv from #southwestarizona through #centralnevada and #centraloregon to #washington then on to #palmeralaska 💙💚 I picked the colors to celebrate the @seahawks season 🏈 the perfect sweater for a chilly football game! It’s a great design, the pattern is well written and easy to follow which is a must when taking the roads less traveled. taken in Palmer Hay Flats by @alaskacandie

Shoutout to the @officialalaskastatefair #volunteers. Without them our fair wouldn’t run near as smoothly! Especially those who care for the #needlework and #sewing exhibits. As more people find joy in creating the #alaskafairvolunteers jobs become more encompassing but they always serve with a smile on their faces & kindness in their hearts.
