First Doubles in the books 💚

Running outside in the Roman heat was brutal, but I had the absolute honor of racing with @drblair_performr , who is basically a pro athlete 💪

I was genuinely amazed and inspired by her hard work, and especially by seeing how she approached every station and figured out the best way to split the workload to maximize our performance, despite the obvious gap between our levels 😅

And when things got tough, she even cheered me on by singing Spice Girls and Britney to somehow make me run faster 😂

Thank you so much, Louise, for agreeing to do this together and for making my first Doubles super duper fun 💚

Ci siamo conosciuti davanti all’aula 2.4 quasi vent’anni fa, complice un trafiletto sulle Spice Girls sul giornale che distribuivano all’ingresso dell’università.

Da lì abbiamo condiviso esami, feste, vacanze, cuori spezzati, malori in aereo, gite al pronto soccorso, abbronzature latenti, erasmus, mail con allegati e momenti belli e brutti in giro per il mondo, tra Verona, Málaga, Granada, Cádiz, Córdoba, Ibiza e Londra.

Poi siamo diventati “adulti”, la vita ci ha portati lontano e le occasioni per vederci sono inevitabilmente diminuite. Ma, nonostante le distanze e le poche possibilità di incontrarci negli ultimi dieci anni, siamo riusciti a non perderci.

E nel frattempo mi hai dato la possibilità di conoscere Paolo e, poi, i vostri splendidi Giovanni e Margherita, rendendomi partecipe della famiglia che stavate costruendo.

Non potevo perdermi la celebrazione di tutto quello che tu e Paolo avete già costruito insieme e continuate a costruire, giorno dopo giorno. Neanche a costo di venire apposta da Tokyo 🤍

E sono ancora più felice di aver potuto condividere un giorno così importante per voi insieme a @piccijuve e @rose__crn , a quasi vent’anni dall’inizio della nostra avventura CINT 🫶 @alessandraorizio by @albertoblackout

Tokyo Game Show 2026 [Part 2]: mostly Capcom booth and everything else 👾

Dusted off my shooting skills with some Resident Evil weapon replicas at the legendary Gun Shop Kendo, although resisting the urge to spend all my money on merch was harder than surviving a zombie outbreak 🧟

Also got my fair share of exposure to the new Street Fighter movie and the hype is officially through the roof now🔥

Tokyo Game Show 2026 [Part 1]: mostly Final Fantasy 🎮☄️✨

30th anniversary of TGS and my 5th year in a row!

Ran as fast as I could to the Square Enix booth to try the Final Fantasy VII Revelation demo and I was definitely not disappointed.

Took some very age-appropriate pictures for a 38-year-old teenager, and even got to meet the legend @naoki_nhamaguc 💪

Summer 2002. First crushes, timeless pop anthems, and Final Fantasy X permanently setting unrealistic expectations of love.

Almost 25 years later, Spira still feels like home.

A 20-year drought finally ended

Last Friday, one of my most beloved gaming series finally came back after two decades without a new installment

Onimusha was more than just a series I loved as a teenager. It was one of the main things that ignited my fascination with Japan, long before I could have imagined that one day I would actually call this country home

I have such precious memories of spending my Christmas holidays playing through these games, year after year, almost like a sacred ritual. Cold winter days, no school, a PlayStation 2, and feudal Japan… Honestly, what else did I need?

20 years later, being able to step into this world again feels incredibly special

Finished the game today and can’t wait to restart it again 🥹🇯🇵 @capcom_ita @onimushagame

September 2026 - PlayStation 5 and Switch 2, regular& deluxe versions, limited edition artbook and vinyl soundtrack, Game Informer magazine featuring Onimusha WotS on the cover

December 2001 - I receive Onimusha: Warlords as my third PS2 game and spend all Christmas Holidays hooked on the tales of Samanosuke and Kaede. It would go on to inspire many things in my life: my Splinder blog username, my Spotify one and my middle school thesis on Japan and Gifu castle. I had also made an Onimusha fansite in 2003-2004 called Onimusha Realm.

September 2021 - trip to Gifu to explore the settings of the first two Onimusha games

November 2021 - my first cosplay ever: Kotaro Fuma from Onimusha 2, one of my favorite characters in the series

November 2021 - Samurai photoshoot in Tokyo, I pick the armor that most resembles Samanosuke’s and a background that reminds of Gifu castle

September 2022 - during a trip to Izumo Taisha, I find two Magatama of the same colors as the ones featured in the Onimusha series

December 2024 - Onimusha: Way of the Sword is announced during The Game Awards, my reaction on the group chat 😂

March 2025 - I always said that I would only try pachinko if I found an Onimusha slot, on the ferry to Sadogashima I found it by chance 😅

No matter how hard I try to squeeze everyone into the few days I have here, I somehow always leave without seeing even half the people I wanted to see 🥲
