“The Hand That Comes Begging Without a Story Doesn’t Receive Anything”

Video / Still Image, Installation. 2025.

- Reflections during the process -

Humility is getting food from charity
Not being able of having new shoes
No roof
No roots
No in between
Just a huge gap
Just a few bags
An 8th ball
A blind bet
Not seeing with clarity
The emptiest room
Getting used to things that you never understood
Getting to like what you never wanted
Not being able to choose.
I’ve seen it in my cousin’s eyes
Within my mom’s nails
While leaving room for others in a chair with three legs.
Then I am loud
I jump the gap
I measure the distance
But I refuse it
I weight ten bodies
and my chest feels numb
Can you see how I care?
Can you see how I submit?
I’m a tool for other’s will
A servant
A peasant
I’m on a mission
I’m just passing by
I want to forget what humble means. by @albevidal
