Delighted to report that Joss is still Boss by @albinrpepe

OUTSIDE by KEEKAI was a hit, I knew it. As soon as i heard it, I knew i was meant to be my next project. It was an exercise in simplicity. Both Robbi and I just came off huge projects with extra large crews, which were both wonderful and energetic, but this time we both wanted to strip away everything and try and work with as little as possible. So that’s what we did. The crew was small: me driving, directing, and shooting, and Robbi, dancing and singing, and looking cute.

When I heard Robbi’s new single, I imagined a carnival, with neon lights, popcorn, and merry-go-rounds. The state fair we found in Otisville, NY, had all that and more; they had a gigantic fireworks show that would rival Friday nights on Coney Island, and all kinds of animals from cows, chickens, to spotted trout and even honeybees. So we drove up together, with nothing but a camera and bluetooth speaker, and got to work.

We got called f*ggots multiple times by some angry adults, who weren’t pleased about city boys being so artsy fartsy in rural New York. We just laughed whenever it happened. Our biggest memory was all these young kids coming up to us, asking about Keekai’s music, asking about the camera we shot on. It was almost like they were the only ones who recognised us doing what we were meant to be doing; Robbi singing his songs and and me directing with a big-ass camera in hand. And that gave us hope for the youth. This is not something I have often.

On the car ride home, Robbi passed out, and I listened to the rest of the Yankee-Red Sox game on the radio, WFAN AM 660. (Yankees won 8-2). It was one of the highlights of this great summer. Honestly, anytime Robbi and I are creative together, it becomes a highlight. Love you buddy.

6 year old me would be stoked that I’m playing in Brooklyn every week with @nycmusiciansbaseball

These guys have helped make this summer one of the most fun I’ve ever had. Not only can all of them shred, but they can also strike your ass out. Catch us playing around the NY area!
