Jil Sander briefcase.
My now retired father carried it to work, almost everyday.
It is manufactured in West Germany.
In a way it works as a reflection of his approach to his work, to work toward a result standing the test of time, everyday.
To carry a briefcase of finest quality only visible to himself, or a skilled eye, with the dignity not to carry a bag featuring a logotype.
But to present himself and his approach towards the people he met there, with pure, serene, presence. by @albinrydholm_ph

Helen Broms Sandberg
THE SEVEN WORKS OF MERCY
THE VENICE BIENNIAL 2026

Approaching Caravaggio's masterpiece requires artistic courage.
As appropriation of another artist's work requires complete discipline and respect (or lack thereof) toward not only the artist but also artistic practice mediated in action, resulting in demand for a greater love.

Helen Broms Sandberg's works, with a pure serenity, restrained and precise sculptural language, have deciphered rather difficult obstacles — the question of how to render time as a rather secondary by-product in our contemporary mindset.

With an effectively chosen array of materials in sculptural symbiosis, from where the artist has created an adagio in which we are invited to contemplate and move freely in 360 degrees around the ideas originating from Caravaggio's time.

Broms Sandberg's sculptures pose as careful instruments, where "Dare da bere agli assetati" functions as a perfect arpeggio ostinato in a symphony of highly restrained chaos, rather reflecting order with undercurrents of a vibrato that never seems to end.
Where "Vestire in nudi" implies both our public and private worlds, the ever-expanding issue of mass consumerism and moral decay of homelessness, in an era so ever saturated with less-important questions, and the silent violence in not acting on these issues.
