In your anger, do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still.
-Psalm 4:4

This is a night prayer by David who was in a difficult situation.

Night often magnifies our problems when we’re alone, but it also provides time to reflect.

When someone hurts us, this verse hints that it’s ok to be angry BUT, don’t sin because of it.

Instead, while we are up, we should look deep within our own heart.

What are our temptations & struggles? Where do we need to trust & surrender more?

The call to be still is a call to be silent & examine our own heart before Him.

There is a purpose in our hurts

Seasons of pain & hurt should not diminish our faith or disillusion us ((2 Corinth 4:18))

1. They remind us of Jesus suffering for us
2. They keep us from pride
3. Makes us look beyond our life
4. Prove our faith to each other
5. Gives God the opportunity to show His love & power

See your pain as opportunities by @albumsalt

365 scriptures about fear. 365 days in a year. ✍🏽
•
Timothy was experiencing great opposition to his message & to himself as a leader. His youth, his association with Paul, & his leadership had come under 🔥 from believers & nonbelievers. Paul urged him to be bold. When we allow people to intimidate us, we neutralize our effectiveness for God. The power of the Holy Spirit can help us overcome our fear of what some might say or do to us, so that we can continue to do God’s work. These characteristics the Holy Spirit gave us are available because He lives in us. by @albumsalt
