The Artist Mind with @22ndelement 🤍This is the longest episode in this series so far because I just couldn’t bring myself to cut any more footage. The way Bruce Davis, fashion designer and owner of 22nd Element, talks about his family and his craft is so beautiful that I truly felt more people needed to hear it.He’s incredibly talented, but beyond that, he’s one of those people who reminds you what it looks like to create with purpose, stay humble, and lead with heart🙏🏽Thank you, Bruce, for trusting me to tell a small part of your story. A couple of days ago, I posted a color grading video and, unexpectedly, it went viral.What didn’t surprise me was seeing a handful of very insecure men in the comments offering rude, condescending opinions about my work. What did stand out, though, were the many people who took the time to leave thoughtful (and kind) feedback and constructive suggestions on how I could improve the grade. I genuinely appreciate that🥰I’m always open to feedback, and I know there’s always more to learn no matter where you are in your creative journey. But there’s a big difference between constructive criticism and plain disrespect.If you’re a creative spending your time tearing down other creatives from behind a keyboard, you need to check yourself. On my page, hateful and condescending comments won’t be tolerated & you’ll be immediately blocked😊😉Most importantly, mean comments aren’t going to discourage me or stop me from sharing my work and connecting with other awesome creatives. I’ll keep creating, keep learning, and keep posting✌️ by @alcalafilms

Cheering for someone else’s work doesn’t make yours less important. Sharing knowledge doesn’t make you less talented. Encouraging others doesn’t take opportunities away from you.Constructive feedback is valuable. Kindness is free.There’s space for all of us to win. Oh trust me, I wish I had the fx3 or fx6 but the @sonyalpha a7iii has saved me many many times on big projects!!! 🫶🏽I’m a firm believer in skills over equipment and I’m telling you I’m squeezing the juice out of my a7iii until I can afford to buy a cinema camera 😭 by @alcalafilms

Screaming a BIG congratulations to my client @eddelbuttel_nutrition because she just went full time with her business recently!!!!🎉👏🏽 Brittany (the owner) has big dreams for this company & I have no doubt she will make each & every single one of her dreams come true not only because she’s a bada$$ woman, but also because she has a purpose & she’s unstoppable! I cannot wait to support her along the way❤️‍🔥And on that note, these are a few shots from her past Gathering Table event that I got to photograph & film!
