Hello! Allow me to reintroduce myself. 😊⁠
My name is Taurie, I am the creator of Alchemy With Soul. I work in my makeshift jewellery studio which is actually meant to be a living room, nestled in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia. 💎⁠

I like nature, my doggy, gardening, dancing, music, poi, being a hermit and occasionally coming out of my cave to do fun things.

I have a long history of chronic pain and mental health issues which make life challenging. But jewellery ignited hope within me. Crafting became a source of empowerment, a reminder that I can achieve despite the odds. ❤️

I started off with macramé in 2017. I always longed to work with metals and to create my own pendants but the physical toll of silversmithing seemed unobtainable due to my health. ⁠
⁠
I discovered Electroforming in 2021, an art form that is a little easier on the body than silversmithing. This process opened up my creativity to a space I never thought I’d be able to access. At this time, I had to stop creating macramé jewellery due to the pain in my shoulder getting too much. ⁠

In late 2023, I revisited macramé, mindful of my limitations. Then in January 2024, I embarked on learning the Lost Wax Method which allowed me to finally be able to work with sterling silver. 💫⁠

Through these years, there have been many ups, but honestly probably more downs. Many tears and frustrations. Yet, there’s a flicker of resilience within me that refuses to dim. I’m fueled by my love for creation and a determination to move forward, overcoming each hurdle that comes my way, even if it takes some time. 🌟⁠

Alrighty.... So I have indeed been asked this and yes there are people who think I charge too much. But it’s interesting....it’s usually people who don’t know anything about the process. The finished product is judged without the journey being considered.

And I totally get it, it’s hard to really know what happens behind the scenes to create a piece of jewelry. I do try to share that side of things but I know not everybody sees those videos. Or they do see the video but because it’s not broken down clearly it could be easy to assume what’s going on.

So here’s a little rundown of what electroforming is. I forgot to mention that the copper builds up over time until the desired thickness is acheived and then it's removed from the bath!

This is not a technical full on rundown. Science and technicalities are not my strong points so this is just my simple version for regular pieces that don’t involve organic materials. Organic materials have extra steps but we don’t need to get into that today.

I hope this helps people understand what goes on to create a piece of electroformed Jewellery.

Not only time, electricity, equipment and energy, but also safety and the awful tears/stress when the chemistry in the blue bath goes out of whack and we have to then become a chemist to figure out how to fix it. Every electroformer has been there....I know you’re feeling me!

Electroforming isn't always easy and things can really mess up! But I keep on moving forward, learn from my mistakes and grow. I always say if I had known about how hard it was going to be I would never have started in the first place.

What a great achievement to have been able to accomplish something that I thought I would not have been able to, if I had known about it! It really shows we can achieve anything we put our mind and Heart to. Just gotta keep trying over and over again, don’t give up, have faith and keep pushing forward. You can really do anything! ❤️

Now I get to create the most beautiful pieces. I recently released a collection called Dragons and Butterflies which featured real dragonflies and real butterflies, how cool is that? There’s still some pieces left and you can find them on my website. 🦋

Hey y’all! So some of you have noticed that I kinda disappeared suddenly. I’m in the middle of some big life changes so I’m not creating. But I do have a wide range of available jewellery for anyone who is interested. 🙏

My website is currently in “pause mode”, which means you can’t check out but you can still browse what’s available. If anyone is interested in purchasing something feel free to send me a screenshot and DM and I can arrange a way for you to make payment.

The reason why I chose to put my website in pause mode is because I have to pay a fee every month to keep it running and because I’m not active online and bringing in steady income, I decided to pause it which reduces the fee greatly, reducing financial stress.❤️

I look forward to my life finding its way to equilibrium again, when it does you guys will know about it because I’m itching to create and share again.

In the meantime, I’ll just touch base with old pieces to share. Because when we go silent on social media, sometimes it’s hard to get back in the algorithm again. ✨

I feel so lucky to be able to touch peoples hearts in this way. 🙏 When I started making Jewellery, I never thought I would be reaching so many people all over the world and meeting so many lovely people in my own city.

I never thought that a piece I created would be so meaningful to someone. It’s a special feeling to receive messages like this.

Wonder how this is going to turn out… I have never been asked to make something quite like this before 🙏

Sometimes people ask me to create something completely different from what I usually do. Sometimes I say yes, sometimes I say no. It just depends on what I am feeling and what I feel capable of at the time.

This time I said yes ❤️

This beautiful person found a Monarch Butterfly that had passed away naturally. She dropped it off to my house and asked me to honour it in copper… mounted on a flat Rose Quartz so it could sit on a table or altar rather than be worn as jewellery.

I was up for the challenge as long as she understood there was a possibility it might not work out. Being the wonderful soul that she is she had full faith in me anyway 🦋

So far it is looking good.

The journey to create this black cockatoo feather pendant was a beautiful one. This feather came from a bird named Bindi. I recently made a connection with someone which has allowed me to receive a couple of these beautiful feathers. This is the first time I ever create with one of these. 🪶

For years the red tail black cockatoo feather was part of my photography setup, and now I finally got to create one. She’s a big piece, and a very special one. Accompanied by a key and Rainbow Moonstone.

Black Cockatoo is A symbol of transformation, intuition, and spiritual messages. It often appears during times of significant change and growth.

Rainbow Moonstone is Associated with intuition, protection, and new beginnings. Encourages trust in your inner guidance.

Key Symbol Symbolises opportunity, wisdom, and unlocking new possibilities. A reminder that new doors are opening.

I love when a customer has a vision 🙏 She had actually reached out about this Purple Labradorite and African Sunstone moonstone pendant before the Reclaimed collection had even launched and said she’d love to have a pair of matching earrings ❤️

The closest I could do were these already made celestial moon phase Rainbow Moonstone earrings on my website and then I could darken them to match the pendant’s dark patina finish.

I was just as excited as she was to see how they would turn out so I said yes and got to work.

The difference is stunning and seeing the stones pop like that once the patina was applied is one of those little moments in the making process that never gets old

This is what I love about custom work. Someone brings their vision and together we make it real.

Your messages and comments mean more than I can put into words 🙏

I wanted to take a moment to share some of the beautiful feedback I have received from my latest collection Reclaimed. Because sometimes I just need to stop and let it land and also, I’d love to be able to scroll back to this in the future and re-read everything. As a one woman show working away quietly in the Adelaide Hills it can feel lonely sometimes. And on the hard days it is easy to wonder if any of it matters.
