Zero. No, not the number of Spurs wins this season but the number of runs that Jaydon Wellsted conceded in his 5 over spell on Saturday. The 15 year old snaffled 2 wickets along the way to finish with incredible figures of 5 overs 2-0. 5 maidens from Tom Cripps in his 0-18, Tanveer Ahmed’s 5-39 and Ollie Smith’s 3-16 helped bowl out Forge Wood for 94 to see the hosts win by 50 runs and take promotion in this playoff game. Earlier, Joel Lodge (32), Liam Tinson (24), Liam Hicks (21*) and Bhumin Upadhyay (19) had all helped Aldwick to a modest but ultimately defendable 144-8. See you all in div 10 next season!! by @aldwickcc

After last weeks Women’s 1XI play off success, it’s the turn of the Saturday 2XI this week as they host @forgewoodcc in the #SCL Division 11W play off final! There is everything to play for with the winners finding themselves in Division 10W next season. The team will appreciate all your support as they give it their all one last time this year! by @aldwickcc

In last week’s friendly at home to Pathfinders CC, off spinner Mike Bennett passed 100 wickets for the club. Mike has shown great loyalty and perseverance to continue playing and taking wickets for the club since his debut in 2022. Mike’s 4-43 in that game was his best this season and still time to go one better! by @aldwickcc

Our final junior update (for now!) comes in the shape of Emily Nash taking a superb 5 wicket haul in the Under 16 girl’s final victory on Sunday. Her loopy leggies were too hot for Haywards Heath to handle and Emily walked off the pitch with the match ball. Emily has shown her value and cemented her place as a key all rounder in the team in recent weeks 🏏 by @aldwickcc

We are still championing our Under 16 girls this week after their win in the final on Sunday. In the games leading up to the final we had two 100 partnerships featuring Chloe, Daisy and Charlotte. A special mention to Daisy as her 43 was her highest score for the club 💪🏻 by @aldwickcc

They did it, SJCF U16 Girls Shield Champs. A brilliant achievement for this wonderful group of girls.

A huge thanks must go to @haywardsheathcc for preparing a pitch at short notice (which has no business being that good after the summer we’ve had), a delicious tea, another game played in best spirit and for generally being great hosts. Our girls had a brilliant day. by @aldwickcc

Our next post from the Under 16s girls festival features 13 year old Chloe who recorded her first ever century in the win away at Worthing. Her 132 not out surprised nobody, particularly anyone that has seen her bat this season and it was only a merciful declaration that finally dragged her off the pitch. Chloe also brought up 1000 runs for the club and we think that she is the youngest person ever to reach that figure as well as potentially the youngest ever centurion (our historical records are not completely accurate!). Congratulations Chloe, surely a superstar in the making 🤩 by @aldwickcc

THE FINAL HAS ARRIVED!

Wishing these 11 players the most enjoyable SJCF final today. They put on some incredible displays of cricket last week, can they continue for 1 more game? by @aldwickcc
