Atlas of a single memory, 2026
monotypes on paper
40x27cm

Atlas of a single memory is a collection of ten monotypes that portray the living room of the house in which my great grandmother lived my whole life. Throughout my childhood I would go to her house once per week every friday for a big dinner she hosted for the whole family and while the food was getting ready we would all spend time this this specific living room.

I was curious of how a memory changes and distorts over time so this project was an experiment in which I created the “same” image starting from a photo and going from memory during a period of ten weeks creating one every week. The result shows how my brain changes the proportions, depth, textures, and lighting. by @ale.lan23
