I started dancing in 2009. I danced extremely actively for 9 years, and then I took a full break… which is still ongoing today.
During those years, I took part in many, many dance events — so I think I’m allowed to have at least a somewhat informed opinion.

My sister @andradanistorica started dancing around 2010 and today she organizes two of the most appreciated dance festivals in Europe: @transilvaniasalsafest Transilvania Salsa Festival and @clujkizombafestival Cluj Kizomba Festival.

And I want to talk about Transilvania Salsa Festival, the event that just took place between the 20th and the 24th of November.

The truth is this: she pours all her energy and creativity into this festival — and when I say all, I truly mean all, to the point of exhaustion.
If she didn’t do that, this festival wouldn’t exist.

She does everything with such passion and dedication that sometimes she forgets to be present.
I’ve reproached her for that many times… but today I think I understand her a little better.

She is a perfectionist. She overthinks a lot.
And she doesn’t really have help.

She handles social media entirely on her own — 10 hours a day in front of screens, and 14 hours a day right before the festival.

And that’s not even half of what she does..

She manages absolutely everything:
she searches for artists, contacts them herself, travels to other events to promote TSF and attract new people, rents an entire 4-star hotel, buys flights for artists and DJs, offers accommodation, food and transport, answers dozens — sometimes hundreds — of messages from participants, manages the entire budget, and reaches out to dance schools all across Romania.

She creates top class dancing conditions — including bringing in 9 tons of professional dance flooring, installed together with her husband and their dance students..

She plans everything, then re-plans it, then checks every single detail again.
She constantly seeks feedback, and tries to honor every concern and every request, without stepping away from her principles. -> part 2 in the comments 📸 : @maneja.dance 🤍 by @ale_dora22
