It has been 1 year since my 3 day visit in the ICU in which I learned that I had Type 1 Diabetes.

I’m happy to be where I’m at in my care. But I wish I would’ve connected the dots sooner. If you or a loved one is suddenly losing weight, has extreme thirst or is peeing more than normal please bring them to the doctor immediately.

As we get older it is easier for our bodies to hide and compensate for the fact that our Pancreas may not be working properly. In children this may be a little more clear as you may find your 10-15 year old wetting the bed.

I don’t know what my future looks like in regards to spreading awareness. But for now it’s just a post :) by @alecbalzer
