A love letter to Nala. 🤍

It’s hard to believe I’m saying goodbye to the character who changed my life.

Nala was my first tv role, and I booked her just one month after graduating from grad school. I had no idea then how much this journey would shape me. She gave me confidence, community, and memories I’ll carry forever. She held me through grief, through being homesick, through allladat.

From AfroPunk in season 2 to getting to travel to Paris for Season 3, this experience has been beyond anything I could have imagined.

Thank you to the whole SOTT fam, to @netflix @strongblacklead , to @a24 and to @amyaniobi and @michellebuteau for believing in me. And creating space for a big brown eyed, loud, thick pretty ting like me.

And thank you to everyone who welcomed Nala with so much love. She’ll always have a home in my heart.

Here’s to the final season of Survival of the Thickest OUT NOW. And here’s to seeing me, Lecs, more on your screens. Cheers heffas!🥂🥂🥖
