And just like that a big chapter of my life has come to an end I honestly never thought I would have to write a goodbye to something that has been such a big part of my life for so many years. I have spent countless hours on the field, made memories I will carry forever, met people who have changed my life, and experienced moments that I will never forget. Through the wins, losses, tears, laughs, and everything in between, soccer has taught me lessons that go far beyond the game.
Walking away from something I have loved for so many years is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do.
To the little girl who first stepped onto the field with a soccer ball and a dream, I hope you know how proud I am of you. You had no idea how much this sport would mean to you or how many memories you would make along the way.
Thank you, soccer, for the memories, the friendships, the lessons, and the version of myself you helped create. Even though my time playing may be over, a part of me will always belong on that field. This isn’t just goodbye to a sport. It’s goodbye to a huge chapter of my life by @aleenastocton
