Have you ever wished you could step into a fairytale? ✨That’s exactly what the Georgia Renaissance Festival felt like.Every little detail brought back the imagination I had as a little girl, when magical worlds felt completely possible. Best Places to Visit on the Big Island 🌺🌋[Save this for your Big Island trip and send it to the friend you’d bring with you ✨]These are some of my favorite spots that are absolutely worth adding to your itinerary:🌋 Kaʻūmana Caves State ParkA lava tube you can actually walk through. It’s dark, a little spooky, and one of the coolest reminders that this island was literally shaped by volcanoes.🐠 Carlsmith Beach ParkOne of the best places to snorkel on the island. The water is calm, crystal clear, and if you’re lucky, you’ll even spot sea turtles swimming right beside you.🌺 Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical ParkOne of the most peaceful places on the island. Here you can learn a lot about Hawaiian history and feel like you’ve been taken back in time.🐢 Kīholo BayA hidden gem with turquoise water (Yes, it IS THIS VIBRANT!), black lava rock, and a good chance of spotting sea turtles just hanging out in their natural habitat.🍍 Hilo Farmers MarketThe perfect place to try local fruits, grab a fresh smoothie, and support local vendors. Come hungry because you’ll want to try everything.⛰️ Mauna Kea SummitWatching the sunset above the clouds feels like you’re on another planet. Stick around after dark and you’ll get some of the best stargazing you’ve ever seen.💚 Papakōlea Green Sand BeachOne of only a handful of green sand beaches in the world. You can either hike or drive (you need a 4x4). The day we went there, transportation was available at the main entrance, but I’m not sure if it’s always there.🏖️ Makalawena BeachA little adventure to get there, but that’s exactly why it’s so special. Think crystal-clear water, soft white sand, and way fewer crowds than most beaches. You MUST have a 4x4 and experience driving off-road before attempting this route.🌱Akaka Falls State ParkA short walk takes you to one of the tallest waterfalls in Hawaii. Standing among some of the largest and oldest living things on Earth 🪾Being in Sequoia National Park completely changed my perception of the world.Standing beneath trees that have been alive for over 2,000 years has a way of putting everything into perspective. People are often surprised when they find out how much I love adventure 🌎Maybe it’s because I love dresses, flowers, pretty cafés, and all things aesthetic. Maybe because I can spend hours taking photos of a sunset or getting excited about a cute outfit. But the truth is, I’ve always been drawn to adventure.As a kid, I was constantly climbing trees and turning ordinary afternoons into grand expeditions. I’d pretend I was stranded on a deserted island, exploring unknown lands and surviving in the wild. Somewhere along the way, I grew up, but that part of me never left.The same girl who loves getting dressed up also loves to ride helicopters with the doors off, jumping from cliffs, ice climbing frozen waterfalls, and chasing experiences that make me feel alive.I’ve never seen those parts of myself as contradictory.
