🚨NEW INTERNATIONAL PLAYER ALERT‼️Joining us for the 2026 WNFC season, all the way from the vibrant city of Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico — is Alejandra Rivera! 🇲🇽🪓New to the San Diego Rebellion, but no stranger to the WNFC or women’s professional football, Ale’s journey began eight years ago in high school, when she broke barriers by joining the boys’ football team. At 18, she set her sights on pursuing her dream of playing professional women’s tackle football — and she hasn’t looked back since.An Automotive Engineer and Pro Athlete, Ale brings strong experience to the Rebellion, having played with the WNFC Las Vegas Silverstars, the WFA Arizona OutKast including All-American 2025, and her state team in Coahuila. We’re thrilled to have her suit up with us this season and can’t wait to see her in action! 🪓A message from Ale to our young female ballers and the future of Women in Sports: "Women will save women. When I told my family I was taking a temporary break from university, they nearly died on the spot lol. After all the hard work it took for them to get me into college, there I was wanting to chase a sports career. But I did it. I knew I could handle everything—just not all at once. Ser tu hermana mayor ha sido uno de los regalos más bonitos de mi vida. It is a story that now belongs to a whole new community of kids and families. Marina, Valentina, Lucía, and Tía Rosa are ready to meet you.As a teacher, I had many students walk into my classroom with English as their second language. I wish with everything in me that I had this book to put in their hands then. This is for them too.This book would not be what it is without the brilliant women who gave it their time, their heart, and their voice.Jazmin Brill-Araiza is a lifelong friend who grew up fifteen minutes from my house. We have known each other for years, and she fondly remembers the days when I played football in seventh grade. Jazmin loves sports, understands this story from the inside, and her support for this project means everything to me.Raquel Chaparro was my colleague for a few years, teaching Spanish across the hall while I taught English. She is a dear friend, and her daughter Raizel, whom I had the honor of coaching, is an extraordinary athlete. Raquel brought her expertise, her sensitivity, and her heart to every page.Alejandra Rivera came to this project as a stranger who became a friend. She reached out through social media and offered to help because she wanted this story to receive the care it deserved.
