Slowly working away on a personal documentary with artist Lun*na Menoh @lunnamenoh , and earlier this summer we got to bring another chapter of her story back to life.

After moving to LA, Lun*na started going to karaoke nights in Koreatown with her Japanese fashion friends. As the nights continued.. the costumes got more elaborate.. the wigs got bigger.. and so did the performances. Singing eventually turned into performing with bands, and later making music with the sounds of her sewing machines.

DP @alejandro.image and I put together a little karaoke set at @terraformla , where Lun*na performed a few of her classics for us. A few frame grabs and BTS from the day.

• Fourth season we’ve shot the anthem for the Detroit Pistons. Each year featuring talent bred in the 313. Payroll Giovanni this time around, with a special performance by the Detroit Jit Team. “All the Time” specifically featured many more player focused cameo’s.

• Director Jason Travis encouraged me to use hard, revealing sources and lean into the brighter side of exposure. Often I found myself stacking diffusion filtration to get the bloom blend just right, and I added a good amount of halation in post to break up the sterility of our lenses. Even made good use of a Star filter.

• Some frames from a deeply rewarding collaboration. This project highlights the NutriSource Facility Dog Program. Pups trained through the program spend their days visiting children receiving medical treatment and their families.

A huge thank you to director @stashcapar for his honest approach to the creative process. His personal journey brought depth and emotional resonance to the project.
