THIS Thursday, October 22 at 6:00 PM, Future Folk Festival 2026 kicks off at @chicagoparks’ Humboldt Park Fieldhouse with a night of harmonious music featuring Alejandro Salazar and the Afro Cuban Exchange with YAW.

Future Folk Festival is Old Town School and Music Moves Chicago’s way of disrupting what one might think folks means. We’re bringing adventurous music to the people, crossing genres and reimagining the boxes we put music in. We want to create magical spaces where audiences can discover something unfamiliar, connect with something they thought they already knew, and experience what happens when different musical traditions come together.

Trust us, these two acts will have you understanding exactly why they belong on the same stage. There’s a special kind of harmony that happens when artists bring their own sounds, influences, and perspectives into the same space. Come see it for yourself!

Folk Alliance International describes folk music as “music of the people, reflective of any community where they are from.” We’re taking that spirit and making room for all the ways folk can sound, feel, and bring us together.

And the best part? It’s FREE! All ages are welcome, and we can’t wait to welcome you into the renovated Humboldt Park Fieldhouse for a night of incredible music and connection.

Come Thursday BUT we’re closing out the year with two more nights of Future Folk Festival goodness for you and the fam. Save the dates on the next slides, and come see what it’s all about!
