It has been over a week since my mom passed away, and I still cannot believe she’s gone. She was the strongest and most courageous person I have ever known. She fought so hard for so long to see me get to where I am today, and I will be forever grateful for everything she did for me. Her strength, love, and sacrifice shaped the person I am. My mom was tough on the outside, but inside she had the most loving heart. She always had my back, supported every decision I made, and no matter what I was going through, I knew she was there for me.

My favorite memories with her were traveling the world together, always being with her everywhere she went, and moments growing up singing in the car to Pitbull, Paulina Rubio, and Prince. Those memories are now some of the most precious things I have. I miss her more than words can describe, but I know her love and everything she taught me will stay with me for the rest of my life. Mi Darby, mi perrito lindo, words cannot describe how I am feeling right now. My body hurts, I feel like I lost part of my life. Darby, the best dog in the world, really, the best dog, died in my arms this afternoon. I am feeling empty inside, and crying like never before. Darby was more than just a dog, he was more than family, he was loyal, always cared about me, even when I was crying just seconds before he passed, he continued to comfort me and lick my face so I would stop. Darby my whole life kept me happy, cheered me up, boosted my emotions when i was feeling down. He comforted me when my mom was diagnosed, we conquered what life threw at us together.
He spent 14 years by my side, conquering whatever life threw at us. Darby impacted not just my life but the life of my family and friends. People always said Darby was a one of a kind dog, a gentleman, and educated and bilingual dog. I remember coming home from school and every time Darby would jump and hug me, with his own two paws and jump around with excitement. We would do everything together. Darby protected me from everyone and everything, even if it was just my mom trying to give me a hug. Darby always slept with one eye open while I was asleep making sure nothing ever happened to me. I prayed this day would never come. Darby lived a happy life full of joy and being spoiled by not only me but my mom and family. Some people will say, that I will get over it sooner or later, but no, Darby was really a special and kind dog and my best friend and companion and I will miss him so much, so so much. As the song says “We’ll meet again, don’t know where, don’t know when. But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day.” I love you Darby so much and I miss you so much. God rest your soul and may you be happy waiting for me in heaven, i’ll be there you wait. Rest in forever eternal peace and love Darbydoo 2010-2024 by @alejandroo_412
