This fall, we’re bringing the League to Sri Lanka for the first time ever.

Ceylon, Serendip, Trapobana. Known over millennia by many names, Sri Lanka is an island of myth and mystique, of tea and spice, white beach and thick jungle. Its current name means “Resplendent Island,” a fitting title for this lush teardrop-shaped landmass that’s emerging as one of the most vibrant and compelling travel destinations on the planet.

Sri Lanka the Bountiful — Nov 1–8, 2026.

Led by curator and researcher Mark Forbes (@mark_b_forbes_) and R&K host Alejo Sabugo (@alejosabugo), this trip begins in the seaside metropolis of Colombo before moving to the ancient Spice Route fort of Galle, then up to the emerald tea trails of Sri Lankan hill country, which we reach by seaplane.

Over one unforgettable week, we will dine in family homes and tea field bungalows, meet Tamil orators, Sinhalese naturalists, planters of cinnamon, and Sri Lankan chefs of all stripes.

In the Picos de Europa mountains of Asturias, a dwindling few master cheesemakers still make Gamonéu cheese using a method passed down for generations.

It starts with a raw blend of cow, goat, and sheep’s milk from herds that graze on high-altitude pastures. After the wheels are shaped and salted, they are lightly smoked over a wood fire and then hauled up a mountain to be placed into natural limestone caves. There, they age for at least a month, developing their distinct, sharp flavor from the wild molds and yeasts inside the caves.

We’ll visit these secret caves on Day 3 of our Asturias: From Sky to Sea journey alongside one of the last traditional Gamonéu cheesemakers, together with Asturian fixer and filmmaker Alejo Sabugo (@alejosabugo), and R&K host and journalist Rafael Tonon (@tononrafa).

See the itinerary at the link in bio.

🇲🇦 Morocco from Medina to Mountain: Apr 26-May 3, 2026

It’s not hard to book a riad in Marrakesh or to photograph the Atlantic light in Essaouira. But few visitors are invited into the private homes, village rituals, and mountain gatherings that still define daily life beyond the postcard. That’s where this journey lives.

This April, we travel from the salt air of Essaouira to the red heat of Marrakesh to the cool hush of the Atlas Mountains, hosted by the people who make this country so infinitely compelling. We’ll cook with Chef Bana in the medina and shop the markets with local culinary expert and trip guide Najla el-Rhazi (@najlaworkshop), who was born and raised in the medina. Alejo Sabugo (@alejosabugo)—our old friend and Bourdain’s fixer—will be along to make sure the stories are as strong as the mahia.

Every spring, for a brief window along the Cádiz coast, the fishermen of the Almadraba practice a 3,000-year-old hunt that is one of Europe’s great food rituals. It happens only in April–June. It peaks in May. And this year, we will be there in the middle of it.

Andalusia and the Great Tuna Hunt: May 6–13, 2026

Led by the Spanish fixer and filmmaker Alejo Sabugo (@alejosabugo) and culinary scout Gonzalo Gil Lavedra (@wandering.gonzalo), this is one of the most insider trips we’ll run all year.
