@attitudemag awards wearing one of the most special items of clothing I’ve ever purchased: Neil Munro “Bunny” Roger’s beaded catsuit from The Amethyst Ball, 1981.

If you haven’t heard of Bunny you are MISSING OUT! Couturier, war hero, socialite, bon vivant and one of England’s great eccentrics (who also invented capri pants). As a schoolboy, he famously asked for a doll’s house as a reward for making the football team.

Oxford proved less welcoming. Bunny was expelled from the Ruskin School for his “obvious homosexuality.” Rather than retreat, Bunny transformed adversity into opportunity, establishing his own London fashion house, Neil Roger, in 1937. Within months he had become one of the capital’s most talked-about young designers.

Bunny fought Nazis in Italy and North Africa with the Rifle Brigade - he was known to charge into battle with a rolled-up copy of VOGUE. His advice on how to face the advancing enemy? “When in doubt, powder heavily!”

After the war, Bunny became famous for his themed soirées. His Diamond, Amethyst and Flame Balls celebrated his 60th, 70th and 80th birthdays. This beautiful purple jumpsuit and cape was made for his 70th. Hand-beaded from head to toe, it weighs 30kg! I was lucky to win it at a recent Kerry Taylor auction, and even luckier to find @willshillito, who worked miracles restoring the lost beading and finishing details in just three days.

Writing after Bunny’s death, The Independent observed that beneath the flamboyant exterior lay “a showman’s resilience, an enthusiast’s energy and a conviction that life is what one makes it.” His obituary concluded with: “Beneath his mauve mannerisms, Bunny was stalwart, frank, dependable and undeceived; to onlookers a passing peacock, to intimates, a life enhancer and exemplary friend.” Bunny moved through life with a fearless commitment to individuality that made him an icon for us all to remember - I couldn’t be prouder to be carrying his memory through in 2026.

Last Saturday, for @londontranspride, Queer Health brought together trans icons and allies for a post-parade afternoon at @theroofgardens supporting @notaphaseorg.

Our goal was to help everyone relax, recover and reconnect, with:

Pulling off Queer Health 2026 was the most difficult thing we have ever done. It was also the best thing we have ever done.

In a world that recently seems more and more hostile to our community, meeting and engaging with so many wonderful people along this journey who are powered by love, above all else, has given us hope.

As our community has done so many times in the past, we know that we will harness that hope to push for progress - whether it is easy or difficult.

We are left with an immense amount of gratitude for all of the incredible sponsors, speakers, partners, performers and friends who have supported us getting this far!

Bringing you all together, as we plan to do many more times, made every stressful morning and every sleepless night worth it by double. Thank you for being vulnerable in the open and reminding us that we are all human, and all in this together.

We’re delighted to announce Queer Health 2026, our inaugural event, will be hosted at Battersea Arts Centre!! 🎭

We chose @batterseaartscentre because of their incredible mission and ethos. As a charity, BAC have spent decades backing underrepresented voices, removing barriers to access, and using creativity as a tool for social change.

It’s also one of London’s most beautiful and storied spaces. A former town hall that survived a devastating fire and chose reinvention over retreat, BAC has remained a living centre for expression, experimentation, and community. We felt that that resilience and decision to rebuild louder and more boldly mirrors the strength of the queer community itself.
