Traces

The images were produced during an artist residency in Klagenfurt, supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum in Rome. My aim was to investigate Lake Wörthersee as a repository of memory and to reflect on the identity of a place as something fluid and stratified, continuously shaped by what remains and what is yet to emerge.

A Song for Our Ancestors
Ostia

My grandfather Augusto used to swim in the Tevere river as a young boy. Many years before leaving us he decided to be cremated and to get his ashes scattered in the river that belonged to his childhood. I tried to see an imaginary path of his ashes, following the Tevere that flows in Ostia, the coastline near Rome. This last one is a sort of place where to say goodbye and in which his ashes merge with the sea in an eternal embrace. This work starts from an intimate story, but is also a dedication to the souls of the world that choose the journey as the crowning of their existence.

È stato un piacere condividere questo progetto insieme a Gaia Credentino e Isabella Nitto, a cura di Eva Asaad.
La mostra rimane visitabile fino al 21 ottobre, tutti i giorni fino alle 17:00, esclusi sabato e domenica (giorni di chiusura del Forum).
