With only four participants, it was a quieter month than usual. Choosing a winner wasn’t easy—not because every image was perfect, but because each brought something different to the theme. After careful consideration, I’ve selected Alessandro Renzi. I particularly appreciated the subtle inclusion of the different Pride flags together with clear message on the sign. Thank you to everyone who shared their work. Basel Pride. I went looking for the contact point, where the parade meets the ordinary street, where a Hello Kitty shirt sits next to a moustache, where the crowd carries its own weather. The flags speak for themselves. I’m after the people underneath them, half-absorbed, half-performing.
