Despite the day to day of recovery from a fractured back being hard on the mind and body, I can still look back on my year so far and be thankful for every moment before and after the injury, including my recovery process over the last four months . I am not 100% yet but I’m getting my confidence back slowly but surely with a few fish and waves 🤙🏼 Thankful always, stay stoked. by @alex_alexalex

Absolute 🔨 🔨 smoked the @madd_mantis Cherry Popper this morning . Wasn’t sure if I was ever going to top my PB Snapper from early last year, but this one blew the lid off ..Chasing trophy fish from the shore is a love hate relationship. Chewing in the slop .In a fishery where you usually fish all day for one bite, on this day we managed to get four bites during a three hour window, three of which being giants .Pushing through the wind all morning, we eventually found an area of stacked XL bluefin tuna feeding on the surface all to ourselves. Something you’re always hoping will happen, but rarely does . Sockeye Salmon, Bristol Bay, Alaska 2024 . Learned a lot, worked a lot, slept a little .Had a great Captain and crew on the Averie Nicole. The boys were able to keep the moral high through all the interesting surprises this fishery brings, rough weather, chili pepper anchorages, engine troubles, fire hose showers, non existent naps, candy caned nets, etc . The list goes on, but as I like to say, misery loves company 😂 .I was able to push my mental and physical limits while learning the ropes and have gained the utmost respect for all who work in this industry .Still sorting through all my footage for a @tidalsurfandfish episode in the future 🤙🏼 stay tuned . by @alex_alexalex
