Our new single One of a Thousand is out everywhere today. Stream it wherever you get your music!

Two years ago, Hurricane Helene hit us hard. In conversations around town, it was often said that this was a one-in-a-thousand year storm, a singular geological event. Landslides and flooding on a scale never seen before and hopefully never seen again. Still in the same breath, we all seem to agree that we have to treat this as if it’s just one of many. The start of a new chapter.

Thank you for all the streams and donations over the weekend! Y’all are the best. We hope the song can provide a bit of solace in this anniversary as well as some contemplations for the future.

Much love, RW

Hey y’all, we have a new song to share. It's born from Hurricane Helene which tore through our town two years ago this weekend. It is available on bandcamp today (link in bio) and will be released across all digital platforms on Monday.

All proceeds from this weekend's bandcamp sales will go to these organizations. They have been essential in the immediate survival and the ongoing recovery & resilience of our area after the hurricane:

@blueridgepublicradio
@avlgreenworks
@swannanoacommunitiestogether
@manna_foodbank
@belovedasheville

Much love and many thanks 💛,
RW

BIG NEWS, FRIENDS! ✨ We’re beyond excited to share the newest member of our Collective: The Hive!

Tucked in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just 15 minutes from Asheville and Black Mountain, The Hive is our most refined retreat yet. A hand-crafted cedar home with a private sauna, outdoor soaking tub, firepit, and grill. Every inch was built with care, celebrating craftsmanship, warmth, and rest.

Designed for slow mornings, quiet evenings, and the kind of memories that linger, it’s a space for rest, romance, and renewal.

🛏️ Sleeps 2–4 (king bed + pull-out sofa)
🐾 Pet-friendly
☕ Fully stocked kitchen
🧖 Sauna
🛀🏻 Outdoor soaking tub
🔥 Fire-pit and grill

The Hive joins our family of cabins, The Starling, The Roost, The Rhododen, and The Understory, carrying our same spirit of craft, but with a touch more luxury.

✨ Book your stay: Search “The Hive: Luxury Cabin with Sauna and Outdoor Tub” on Airbnb or visit our link in bio. taken in Asheville, North Carolina by @alex_mcwalters

I’m very grateful to be working in LampLightAVL’s Residency 821 space in West Asheville this Jan-Feb. as part of my tenure here, I’ll be giving a FREE short story reading and musical performance. Featured will be members of @riverwhyless and the very talented @emilyeasterlymusic.

The idea is to integrate music into the reading such that the story is accompanied by a kind of soundtrack. It’s an experiment for sure, but one I’m excited to undertake. I’ll be reading “I See A Darkness,” a story inspired by Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy’s album of the same name.

Feb 3 at 7Pm. Everyone is welcome. Many thanks to @theresidencyat821 for this opportunity. by @alex_mcwalters
