This rather photogenic African Bush Elephant was photographed at Pilanesberg National Park in northern South Africa. The park’s thriving elephant population was introduced in 1979 as part of Operation Genesis, a massive conservation effort aimed at restoring the park’s historic populations of fauna.

Another photo of the same lemur as the previous post! This fellow was super friendly - well taken care of by the wonderful folks at Nosy Soa.

I tried drawing a dinosaur once. It's based off of a photo of a skeleton. If anyone has extra willpower to share so that I can finish this, please let me know.

Really wanna get into film photography. This old camera was given to me many years ago by a lady we sheltered after Katrina. I'm hoping to get it working!

Make friends everywhere you go! I can't understand her, but I think she gets me. A bee in the hand is worth ten in the hive, after all.

#bees #nature #wildlife #insects #hymenoptera A photo of a bee on my index finger. The abdomen is resting against my fingernail and the head is pointing towards my hand, resting just above the final joint. It appears to be a carpenter bee. taken in Bloomingdale, Georgia by @alexander.bourdon

Did you know that you can poke the bees outside? It's true! They can't stop you 🐝 🥰

These are European honeybees, which are invasive here in North America. Despite their cute appearances and docility, they are quite damaging to the environment! I love them, but they aren't supposed to be here. If you know how to recognize them and can remove them, do!

I've lost some weight since the last time I've attempted this. I now realize there are these funny things under the piano called pedals that can somewhat mask my lack of coordination when switching between chords with my left hand. Otherwise, I'm still terrible.

What I presume to be a little egret was hanging out at a small wildlife sanctuary in Pretoria, South Africa. Very cool.

I had to throw trash in the dumpster one day only to find it had a new security guard. Unfortunately, I had to chase him away. Turns out just throwing your hands in the air and screaming "RAAAHHHH" works. Probably don't put my solution to the test, however. Maybe I just got lucky.

This little meerkat was hanging out at the Nashville Zoo! Fun fact: Meerkats are a type of mongoose! Meanwhile, their convergently evolved twins, prairie dogs, are rodents!
