𝗟𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 #𝟮 | 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙩𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙚, 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙚 Proche du jouet, la maquette convoque une mémoire de l’enfance et un rapport ludique et spéculatif au monde. Elle devient un espace de projection mentale, un lieu où s’élaborent des réalités possibles. Elle agit comme une “machine à produire de l’illusion”, donnant une impression de totalité à partir d’éléments fragmentaires. Oscillant entre rigueur formelle et fiction, elle ne se limite pas à représenter le réel : elle en propose une reconfiguration. Join us this Thursday as 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶's open studio to mark the end of his TBG+S residency. 📅 Thurs 30 July → Drop in 2:30–5pm 🥂 Reception + farewell drinks | 6pm Alexandre Caretti is the inaugural recipient of the 𝗧𝗕𝗚+𝗦 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕é𝘁𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗻/𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 (2026). His work narrates without explaining, drawing on architecture, materiality, gentleness, humour, and play to provoke an encounter with his work and the stories that inhabit it. His research explores systems of politics and intimacy, recently focussing on systems around the European Union, such as its Parliament (Strasbourg) and its Central Bank (Frankfurt). During his time in Dublin, nearby Ireland’s EU Presidency chambers in Dublin Castle and Kilmainham, he has been examining these systems in an Irish context. Alexandre Caretti is drawn to the paraphernalia, furniture and settings, and ways that these spaces of dialogue, democracy and power are configured. He uses found materials as well as textile, paper, cardboard, drawing, paint, motors, lights and more. Objects and models take the form of sculptures made from found materials, offering a fragmented glimpse into his subject matter. He assembles vignettes orchestrating a space, enjoying the potential for cinematic atmosphere, hinting at, rather than directing a story. He is interested in flaws: failed pieces of furniture can become a successful sculpture, a sleeve cut from a jacket can become its own thing and occupy a new space. His sculptural language appears as both ephemeral and concrete. The possibilities of materials and how things exist can be reconfigured into something other, yet retain a ghost or sense of their origin story. This is what underpins his sculptural language. 𝗟𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 | 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙩𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙚, 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙚 Depuis plusieurs années, la maquette occupe une place centrale dans le travail d’Alexandre Caretti. Utilisée en architecture comme au cinéma, elle permet de passer d’un état à un autre : du projet à la forme, du concept à la matérialisation, d’une échelle à une autre. En réduisant les volumes, elle rend visibles des configurations autrement inaccessibles et transforme profondément notre perception. Elle permet d’embrasser un ensemble tout en invitant à s’y projeter. 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 #2 | 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙩𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙚, 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙚 Au sein du terme collectionner affleure celui de collecter, qui occupe une place centrale dans la pratique d’Alexandre Caretti. L’artiste s’imprègne des lieux qu’il traverse, en prélève des éléments qu’il sélectionne, s’approprie puis reconfigure. Ces fragments deviennent des formes actives : des sculptures, des assemblages, parfois des dispositifs mécanisés qui s’activent, soudainement, comme pour manifester leur existence et, par ricochet, nous rappeler à la nôtre. 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 #𝟭 | 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙩𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙚, 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙚 Collectionner, c’est accumuler mais aussi révéler. Derrière chaque objet choisi se dessine une forme d’attachement, une inclination, parfois un désir difficile à nommer. La collection est un portrait intime, une manière de rendre visible ce qui nous fascine. Elle ne cesse de raconter, parce qu’elle rassemble des objets ayant parfois connu plusieurs vies et relie entre elles des histoires dispersées. Elle témoigne également d’un rêve démesuré, celui de réunir, d'appréhender, de posséder un monde dans sa totalité. Mais collectionner, c’est aussi organiser, classer, ordonner, hiérarchiser. Dans cette conduite se loge un besoin de structure, une tentative de stabiliser, de contrôler, de saisir un réel qui, par nature, nous échappe. Introducing 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶, one of the artists taking part in this year's 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿, 9–12 July, where he invites the public to collaborate on his project 𝘐𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘵𝘴. → Vist the link in bio to book a workshop or read more about his project. Alexandre Caretti is French artist living in Lyon, currently in Dublin on the TBG+S and Bétonsalon Dublin/ Paris Residency Exchange. When devising his project 𝘐𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘵𝘴, he was inspired by patterns and motifs discovered in the streets and museums of Dublin. Drop in to the Gallery and see a collection of photographs and objects he has assembled to guide and inspire you. Through this collection – or images from your own phone or notebook – you can create a pattern that reflects your own taste and imagination. Add your work to a growing collaborative installation in the Gallery. This installation will reflect on identity and storytelling created through layering textile patterns and domestic objects. 𝗔̀ 𝗹'𝗲́𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗱𝗲 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙩𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙚, 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙚 Pour son exposition personnelle au CEAAC, Alexandre Caretti investit les deux étages du Project Space en y déployant deux atmosphères radicalement distinctes : la quiétude de l’attente et l’activité bureaucratique. Ce dédoublement spatial devient le lieu d’une tension à la fois politique et intime entre croyances collectives et désillusion personnelle, où se rejoignent les rêves qui fondent nos élans communs aussi bien que les doutes qui les traversent.
