Swipe for a little summary of my painting work over the last 8 years 🌱

When you land on my page, there’s a lot to see. I’ve been using this space for the raw expression of whatever I’m feeling, experiencing, making… and it’s a lot - playful, dynamic, with a dash of chaos 🐒

So I wanted to take a moment to reflect and give my work the spotlight. Here’s a selection of my favorite paintings and drawings from the past years of life as an artist:

I didn’t plan to make something beautiful...

I made my first Wobble late at night when I desperately needed to get out of my head. My partner and I had been fighting and I felt stuck… so I needed something to make, something physical.

When I rolled the clay it was so fragile, I almost made it with disdain. Like: “Break it, I don’t care.” It felt honest to make something I wasn’t attached to... and then it didn’t break. It wobbled in my hands, like it chose to stay.

Since then, I’ve leaned into that tension. Making pieces that balance, that live quietly, but still hold weight. They’re wall sculptures. They’re hot plates. They’re a reminder that fragile things can survive, and even beautify the space they’re in.

My Adventure Rule #1: Create a loose structure… a place, a time, but leave ample space for the unexpected to unfold.

This is how we planned our Landjuweel > Garbicz festival portal decompression. Landing in rural Poland on a farm with no visible neighbors, only fields and lakes and forest.

It was not part of the plan that our Airbnb host would become a friend. An all-round creative, music producer, photographer - @sikora_patryk was anything but expected, wandering across the fields in his studded boots and golden wrestling shorts (see last slide).

It was not part of the plan to stay an extra night, the night that finally found us all making music and art around the fire serenaded by hundreds of frogs and the splashes of leaping carp. Nor that we would wake up early for a spontaneous photoshoot on his family land.

There, in the unplanned moments, is where adventure is found.

What just happened?

Somewhere in space and time, we found our Bon Bon Vivants.

Physically, we’re wrecked. Mentally, we’re still flowing on the music, the art, the sensuality, the chocolate energy and all the love we shared inside this little bubble.

We found a new home... and now we’re homesick.

THANK YOU ♥️

To our crew, volunteers, performers, musicians, dancers, creators and, of course, Landjuweel: you made this world come alive.

What a ride.

I’ve been a bit silent on here because there’s been a lot of positive movement the past few months.

I finally took the time to write down all of my recent creative projects, and oof, no wonder I haven’t had much energy to show up online.

A brief non-exclusive summary:

1. A playful mural for @hotelsdrift in Curacao;
2. Two in-home commissioned murals (for some truly incredible humans);
3. Two blacklight commission murals for @nyxhotel.ams ;
4. Three variations on my performance ‘Vulnerability / Power’ with my favorite collaborator @semkramer_ and guest support by @nadiainnocentia, @de_zevende_kleur, and @emmykoos;
5. Four sculptural and painting pieces commissioned to celebrate major life milestones (including a new baby!);
6. 10sq meters of mural for a community space (a project that I injured myself for and was confronted with not being in my twenties anymore);
7. 1000 meters of mural work doing all the hallways for a hotel on rembrandtplein (this is ongoing through September for obvious reasons);
8. My first installation project (open for its new home, looks soooo good with lights at night);
9. And of course my own creative play with my beloved friends.

I’m out of breath now (metaphorically and literally) but I will be open for more commissions from mid September ♥️

And if you’ve made it this far, hey! Sometimes I feel resistance to sharing this way because it feels self-aggrandizing. But if you’ve been here for a while, you’ll know that last year was absolutely brutal and I barely made anything at all (besides lots of mistakes, ha).

So I’m overcoming my own resistance to sharing by reminding myself that I’ve come a long way. I allow myself to tell the world when I’m doing cool shit and thereby create more of it into my life.

You might not have seen me much the past few weeks, and that’s because I’ve been spending most of my time at NYX Hotel working on turning all their in-between spaces (hallways, the basement jazz club, etc) into art.

It’s an amazing project (and I still have four more floors to go) 🙈

So grateful to @natasha.m.grant who brought me into this project, came with a concept, and brings so much creative support.

To the brilliant @aaldrikb_ for shooting and editing this video 🥰 And to the team at @nyxhotels_amsterdam who has been so lovely to work with.

Can’t wait to keep creating!

My first live art performance in Amsterdam w/ @alexcovert.art

This performance explores the dualities we all carry within us: shadow and light, masculine and feminine, the self and its reflection. Through movement, sound, meditation, and live presence, we enter an intimate internal dialogue guided by @mahi.meditates and specially composed music from @we_are_galaxies
