Kaua’i has a secret it only shares after dark. No light pollution, no distractions, just you, a Jeep, and about 200 billion stars that have absolutely zero interest in your problems. Stood on the hood of a Jeep at midnight pointing a headlamp at the Milky Way like I was trying to flag down a space traveler. Laid down on the hood and stared straight up until my brain just… short-circuited and happily received that cosmic gut punch.Darkness doesn’t hide the magic, it reveals it. Sometimes you have to turn off all the noise, let your eyes adjust, and let the universe remind you just how beautifully, humblingly small you really are. Postcards from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan ✨A place so quietly stunning, where the water looks like it was stolen straight from the Caribbean and the rocks have been sitting there unbothered for a billion years just waiting for you to finally show up. 🌊 We came, we saw, we completely forgot we were in the Midwest. I almost didn’t post this. This wave wasn’t “perfect”, the frame is soft, the subject is out of focus, my hands weren’t steady, the settings weren’t right and a second later I had to jump out of the way or I realized I was too close or too far from the subject. Normally, this would’ve stayed in my camera roll. But here’s the truth: these are the photos that matter most. The ones where things didn’t go as planned, where you were in it instead of trying to control it. The ones that remind you you’re still learning. Because every blurred shot, every missed focus, every “almost deleted” moment is part of the process that gets you closer to the photo you do want. Blue Monday… but mentally I’m here . 🌊💙Cold water, warm sand, and days where the only plan is no plan at all.There’s something about Lake Michigan in the summer. You walk in “just to test the water”… and somehow end up staying until sunset. Beach strolls turn into hours, dips turn into full swims, and “just one more minute” turns into where did the day go?Some people go to the beach to relax… others apparently go to become part of it 😂. Michigan’s about to thaw… which means dirt surf season is officially back (and my legs are not ready 😅). 🌲🚵‍♂️There’s just something about pedaling through quiet forest lines, chasing light through the trees, and letting the trail do what it does best. Resetting the mind. Real therapy! Looking forward to spending more time on my @nukeproofbikes Reactor, as it quickly became that do-it-all ride. Climbs smooth, but really comes alive when the trail opens up and things get a little rowdy. Built for long days and technical terrain, it’s the kind of bike that makes you want to keep going just one more lap… every time.Now I’m just counting down the days until the trails are fully back.
