This is how you get a fire effect without a permit. 🔥

Alex Gaynor shares how he used a wireless transmitter and a custom LED array to make it look like Billie Eilish was dousing a flame with her bare hands.

The trick? A great crew, some velcro, and a band-aid.

“The Mandalorian” premieres today on Disney Plus Streaming;
I was fortunate to spend a few months as the 2nd Unit Gaffer in support of the big brains over at @wavepoint_lighting and Main Unit Gaffer @jeffjlion along with a brilliant @iatselocal728 L.A. Set Lighting Crew. Amongst all the technology and VFX, I think the gang found a really grounded and naturalistic aesthetic for this new chapter in the Star Wars saga. Big thanks to the console programmers, techs, riggers, fixtures teams & genny ops for pulling it all together. (And thanks Local80!) Shout out to #laynemcisaac for being a decent Best Boy & for solid Patch/Swag Design.

Beautiful rainy days in LA yield amazing sunrises on Angelus Crest. Had a great morning driving #otherpeoplesporches courtesy of @escimages. Thanks for helping me slightly delay my inevitable mid-life crisis. #angelescrest

If bored between sweatpants-loosening and black friday rampaging, a fun little comedy webseries I worked on is finally available on vimeo. Passwords are lifted and ready for consumption, 4 easily digestible minutes at a time. Link in bio.

A beautiful night at the ballpark for the final game of the 2018 World Series. Congrats to LA & Boston for playing some incredible ball, it is always inspiring to see so much dedication & hard work pay off and witness people achieving their childhood dreams.

We found a peaceful farm in the middle of the Azores. I arrived with a girlfriend and left with a fiancé. Luckily for me, it was the same sweet woman. And Portugal rejoiced with fireworks and Bon Jovi.
