Birthday Everest ⛰️

I was inspired some months ago by friends who had taken on the challenge in success with a "run what ya brung" approach. Once I saw the opportunity to be in a place that could offer me the perfect stage, I wanted it. Plus, it lining up with my 30th birthday only deepened my desire further. The gift I strived to give myself was something that would push me further, something that would stretch me thin.

The support I've received in the lead up and during has been mind-blowing. Some of you I had only met 5 minutes prior, but there was never a millimetre of doubt in any of you ❤️ Thank you to everyone who has housed me, supplied me with equipment, loaned me cars and gave me advice. Everything really is a team effort.

🌈 Enduro World Champs 2024 🌈

I never got around to posting anything from this race. It was a special one to be at being the first single world championship's for Enduro. Big respect to all the riders for heading out in the treacherous conditions, I don't envy you on this one 😅. It was no joke out there. I don't think anyone's brakes or suspension actually worked how it should due to the temperatures. ❄️

Thank you @yeticycles for the custom painted bike for @s_lukasick . It was a pleasure to build up.

Dustman 🇹🇭

This was tough, but in the best way possible. Heavy rain falls turned the Dustman course into a Mudman course. Grit and technical ability on your bike saw you make the best of the conditons. As much as this was a gravel race, it could of been classed as a XC Marathon in sections. The mountain biker in me was so happy with this course. It was rough, rocky and muddy. Some of the river crossings were elbow deep on me. Having a sigh of relief when we hit the tarmac sections just so I could rest my arms from the abuse.

I came over here with the endevour of qualifying for World Championship's in age category for next year in Nannup, 8th or better was the result I needed and to my pleasant shock at the finish line, I finished 3rd! This is my first ever podium on the bike!

As always, this is a team effort. From all the race preparation tips, buying me food, coaching advice and beyond. 🤍

Post @ucigravelworldseries at Kanchanaburi (by @bikezoneevents), the Crux adopted a new @zippspeed handlebar stem via express service by @sangfahbicycle_shop. If you didn’t know, my suspension stem gave way and I had no choice but to DNF. Yes the race was quite extreme but hilariously and sadistically fun 🤩

Got to ride Bangkok once more via @timparuli RCC Wednesday Wellness Ride. @theb3eautifulride says it’s Friendly Forties (not age hor).
.
Then to have @alexpresant (UCI Elite men’s) suddenly appear at the 7-11 start point meant that his chill ride = threshold for me 🫠
.
That said, the real killer was @chang_rd who pulled then started going faster and faster 🥸. For once the park ride and jams were blessings to recover!
.
Bangkok jams are always the alleycat type of fun, and thanks Timothy James 🇹🇭🇲🇾 for the ride! Most of us rode our gravel bikes, and everyone contributed photos and videos.

I love being able to express two of my favourite things, and more often than not with this sport, it can be hard. So this one is special to me. It's a healthy obsession.
