🚗✨ 12 fun stops on a spring road trip to Southbury, Connecticut, and honestly… this area feels magical. Looking for the ultimate pancake party? Chip’s Family Restaurant is celebrating its 60th anniversary and I stopped by the Orange location to celebrate with a table filled with pancakes 🥞📍 Chip’s Family Restaurant- Orange and Fairfield, Connecticut @chipsfamilyrestaurantctI felt like a kid again sampling so many different varieties:🥭 Tropical Pancakes- buttermilk pancakes with chopped mango, pineapple and shredded coconut, served with coconut syrup.🍓 Strawberry Shortcake Pancakes- layered with warm strawberry compote and topped with whipped cream.🫐 Fresh Blueberry Pancakes- filled and topped with fresh blueberries.🤎 Cinnabun Pancakes- laced with a sticky cinnamon-brown sugar mixture and drizzled with powdered-sugar glaze.🍫 Choc-a-holic Pancakes- loaded with white and milk chocolate chips, drizzled with chocolate sauce, dusted with powdered sugar and topped with whipped cream.🏆 The Choc-a-holic Pancakes were my ultimate top pick. I honestly forgot just how much I love chocolate chip pancakes, and these completely brought that love back! There really is something for everybody on the menu, whether you love chocolate, fruit, cinnamon or tropical flavors.👉 We also tried the Western Supreme Omelet, a fluffy three egg omelet filled with ham, peppers, onions, potatoes, cheese and tomatoes. It was delicious and added the perfect savory option to our pancake feast.I also had the chance to speak with one of the owners, Dina Chatzopoulos Bajko, who shared more about the history of Chip’s and what makes their pancakes so special, including the maple syrup and fresh whipped butter served alongside them 🧈Chip’s has been serving Connecticut since 1966, with locations in both Orange and Fairfield.This entire spread made me feel like a kid again. We tried the bread, octopus, bolognese pasta, stuffed pasta with veal and caramelized onion, and the most incredible desserts, including panna cotta, torta della nonna, and tiramisu with a hint of rum. 10/10. @geppettoctSasso’s Coal Fired Pizza to end the day. 📍 Georgetown, Connecticut- I’m back at The Georgetown Owl Market & Café, and these are four of my top picks with some fun beverage suggestions 🏆 Part 1 👀🥪 The Marchant: Slow-roasted lamb, red onion, lettuce, cucumber, and tzatziki wrapped together. This one may officially be my number-one pick! I paired it with a Boylan Black Cherry Soda.🍎 The Wagon Wheel: Turkey, Gruyère, fig jam, and sliced apple on whole-grain ciabatta, paired with a fun banana cream soda.🥗 The Owl Cobb Salad: Grilled chicken, mixed greens, hard-boiled egg, bacon, tomato, cucumber, and Gorgonzola.
